Bass staying?

Bass is a hardworking PF. Sure he has limitations (could be a better rebounder for example)  , but he has a steady 15-17 ft jump shot and this season is attacking the basket like no tomorrow. Active and physical defender that can guard multiple positions

CBS seems to like him also

I would consider signing him to a 2 year extension.

I would love to see Brandon Bass kept through the trade deadline and re-signed this off-season.

Bass might be playing the best he ever has, and I like him.  However it might be time to sell high on him.  He's better suited for a playoff contender than a rebuilding team.

If Danny can get a "first", he's gone.

I'd have no problem though letting him finish his season here and expire. Great guy to have around the kids.

I'm not resigning him though. Ainge should really only resign one role player on this team and that should be Crowder.

It just seems to me that it would make more sense for a win now team to give him a mid-level 2-3 year deal than it would be for our team in our condition. If our roster were to drastically change(doubt it) this summer, I could see him coming back. The people that hate him make me laugh though. I think some see him as stifling our "developing bigs"  :o ;D We only have 4 bigs as it is, a couple of whom are wildly inconsistent and overall, really not that good.

I think that pick is protected from Philly.  Basically will be a 2nd.

I dunno.  Ainge can hold out, but I think we appear to be a more desperate seller than any of the teams out west are buyers as it relates to Bass.

I think a 2nd is about all we're gonna get.

if he expires at the end of the season then who cares?

yeah itd be nice to get another first, but unless its unprotected then why bother.  we have so many picks now i feel like we're at the point where we're devaluing our own picks.  Teams will start low balling us in trades for them bc they'll know we need to unload them at some point because you can only have so many players on a roster

and to answer the original question, i wouldnt resign him.  Hes a good player, but a veteran gunner, who doesnt look to get his teammates involved doesnt fit on a team trying to develop young talent

I don't think he's playing the best he ever has.  Rather, he's playing like he always does.  That's what's attractive about him.
