Ainge seemed to not want Jordan Adams in the Green trade (maybe Memphis just wouldn't give him up) and he doesn't want Rivers.

I do think there is room for a 4th guard once Thornton is traded or released. Instead of Dorrell Wright, what would it take for McCollom to be included in a Bass deal to Portland?

This article talks about Portland's cap situation:  http://portlandtribune.com/pt/12-sports/246712-114325-can-things-get-any-better-for-blazers-

McCollom would be a nice get in return for Bass, even if we had to give up a decent 2nd  round pick. Plus we would get to kick the tires on Thomas Robinson.

Any chance they even discuss him?

I like the idea of McCollom because I think if we are going to move forward with Smart, we are going to need another combo guard next to him to take the pressure off Smart. I just don't know if McCollom is durable enough to build around. But I think since they drafted Allen Crabbe, McCollum is somewhat expendable especially considering our pile of draft picks.

Man, that's a smart idea. Like Crowder, McCollum seems like one of those guys who's undervalued and under the radar who might also have some nice upside. Seems like an intelligent, competitive, good dude who would fit right in with this new culture. I don't know how much more than Bass Portland would ask for (maybe a 2nd rounder or two? or a first?), but that would be an interesting trade to pursue.

I've liked this guy ever since I saw him lead Lehigh to the tournament where he absolutely destroyed Kansas, iirc.  Or maybe it was Duke.  Whatever, lol, the point is is that Portland considers him to be a big part of their future (as they should), so I can't see him being traded.  He's awesome, though.

Why would we want another project that does not project to be better then James Young, and plays the same position?

I may be wrong, but I don't think we could include Naterob in a trade with other players.

Danny has stated by both word and deed that he only covets draft picks and not young players in return for his vets, unless those players are stars.  Danny could care less about CJ McCollum.
