Austin Rivers ...appears to be a pop culture hero in Boston .....like a relic for the Doc days or something ...just strange the fascination with such a hugely overrated player on this blog...for what ever reason ......I read though the blogs and nobody has much good to say about him .

His father thinks he can play......don't all fathers .?  Maybe Doc can give him a job

Glade Danny can see clearly , the a Rivers kid is not NBA material.o

he and josh smith have reached levels of fandom among some Celtics fans that rival bird. I don't know why but they have.

..they started automatically counting themselves out of being able to resign their own free agents to reasonable deals and started looking to the 76ers as a model of rebuilding

The years before the Big 3.

When there isn't much to talk about that's going to happen. Austin is young and he is Doc's son, why is it a bad thing to discuss it.  It's not like the Prince situation,  he has about a .01 chance of staying,  Rivers is probably gone for sure too but he is still young enough (not very valuable) that he could stay for the season.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

this is awesome, but in all seriousness, case like these is exactly WHY I should not be a GM  ;D I was a big Josh Smith supporter and also wanted to trade up to grab Rivers during the draft LOL

or

....they realized their current veteran "leadership" was pillow soft, and therefore had no choice but to dump 'em before paying them again and treading water through years or even decades of future cap hell / franchise mediocrity, and instead take the path the best run teams in the league do -- building via the draft and asset collection (i.e. Spurs, Thunder, Bulls, Pacers, and.. themselves).

Meanwhile, they hoped and assumed their fan base, noted for it's basketball acumen, would get that this is the smartest and fastest path forward to championship basketball again, and therefore would not kick and scream about it like spoiled little children.

The ink dried on the Rondo trade.  We've already improved since then and there's no looking back.

Yeah, Chris Babb's not walking through that door!  Vander Blue's not walking through that door!  We have some short memories around here.

And now we're giving minutes to Phil Pressey. My measure for how far we are on the way up is how many minutes Pressey is getting. :P When he's cut, the process will be complete.

I completely agree that Pressey should not be getting minutes. I think the reason he gets minutes is because he brings energy, both in hounding the ball and pushing the tempo. This was necessary when you watched Rondo and Green listlessly sleepwalk through games.

I really hope now that we moved the disengaged vets that we don't find the need to play Pressey to give this team a shot in the arm. If the team doesn't need an energy boost then Pressey will stop seeing court time.
