If we got to draft Parker or Wiggins, would either be starting after Green was traded?
Young may not have as high as ceiling as those guys, but has some elite level skills.
His defense has improved ever since getting time in the D league. He will get better with experience and adding strength. Worse case he should be seeing regular mins off the bench.  CBS is under utilizing him by bringing him in, in case of an emergency and need someone to score 10 quick points.

I think we will see him a lot more now that Green was traded.  That opens up 30 min a game.  As long as he gets some good run in after the All-Star break, I'd say we handled it well.  He is just getting over an injury

I'd start Crowder and tell Young he needs to work on his defense more to start.

Yeah I'd protect Young more, starting would be really tough for him given he's a rookie and still a stick.

Better to ease him into playing minutes.

I wouldn't start him, but would definitely give him more minutes with the second unit.

Which would be an empty statement, because Stevens will then sub him in for no apparent reasons two games after the fact and give him 25 minutes of playing time.

Wiggins is a stick also.

Wiggins is also much better at basketball. QED.

If Young hits a couple of threes then completely blows a couple of defensive rotations, Stevens should yank him and put Wallace in the game.

Wiggins is a strong wing defender & the best perimeter defender on his team.

That is the main difference between James Young and Andrew Wiggins and why one guy is playing big minutes and the other is struggling just to get on the floor.

Crowder should be starting and Young should be his backup.

But Brad is trying to lose.

So he used three guards in the fourth quarter in the last game.

Very creative.

The Lebron's are going to be kicking themselves for moving Wiggins.  Although I was skeptical at the time when people were comparing him to a TMac type of player but if you look at the stats from when TMac was 19 and Wiggins, Wiggins are better across the board and he plays better defense.

The Cavs should have kept him and Lebron could have molded him to be his number two guy, who could eventually take on the opponents best wing scorer and let Lebron rest defense...

It benefits us more to play Crowder until the trade deadline.  Showcasing Crowder might help us flip him for a pick.   He's a free agent and I doubt he's part of the long-term plans.   Young is here for 4 years minimum... we can take our sweet time with him.

McGrady was actually an underrated defender in Toronto.
