I think Stevens has some clear strong qualities, but he is a very inexperienced coach and it shows. We are in the perfect opportunity to let him learn the NBA along with this young roster, and I think we'll keep him around until he is coaching in the playoffs.
I think his biggest weakness is that he overreacts to his own predicament. Yes, he's coaching a weak roster with no superstars, but it seems like he never knows when he actually does have a mismatch. There are situations where Sullinger or Turner or Olynyk are actually impossible for the opponent to match up with, and I would like to see Stevens just go with a mismatch until the other team finds a way to deal with it, instead of sticking to the same offense regardless of opponent, or just subbing out his best guy for a situation.
