Keep, Waive, or Trade Prince?

What do we expect to happen with Prince once the trade is finalized tomorrow? Could we flip him for a 2nd rounder?

Has there been any indication of what's to come with good ole Tayshaun?

He'll be kept until the trade deadline unless we need to clear a roster spot before then.  He will be bought out if not moved.  I hope he winds up in San Antonio.

The bad thing is, if we let him go then he almost assuredly goes to LAC to help their wing depth. I'd prefer to keep him at the end of the bench to not help LA win any more games.

Even though Prince is a consummate professional, I don't see him accepting that role on the awful Celtics without putting up a fight.

I guess if we wanted to, we could trade him for another expiring that is worth less but works under the 125% + 100K option... Giving us more room to take on expiring salary at the deadline in addition to picks.

I agree need to keep him away from clippers. Im not sure how it works trading Prince for another player. I always thought there was a few day period where a play can be moved after being acquired. If this is true DA need to talk right away to Raptors Field + 2nd for Prince makes to much sense to me.

I will not begin to guess what will happen with Prince, but however long he is here i hope he becomes a guide for James Young. Both wing players that went to Kentucky, he certainly has plenty he could teach Young about being a successful NBA player.

I dont think we'll see him in any action. I'm guessing he is waived or bought out so he can be free to sign with a contender. LAC and SAS are probably his most likely destinations.

Any little bit helps. He won't be a chemistry problem there, and, in fact, he'll probably be a good vet leader for that team.

That Raptor idea seems like a good fit for all: Raps get a wing upgrade with championship experience, Celts get a 2nd rounder, Prince gets to go to a playoff team.

Buyout seems like the only thing I'd expect to happen with Prince, same as Nelson.

He is at the end of a long career.   I always thought he has a nose for the ball.  Always seemed to be in the right place at the right time and played tough against us.  But he is old now, and not the same player.  I see a buyout as well.

A buyout only happens if he is willing to give up a bit of money so that he can be waived in time to be eligible to join another team for the playoffs.  Ainge should be playing hardball and refuse to waive him unless he agrees to a buyout.  If he doesn't, waive him after the deadline and fill his roster spot with a D-Leaguer signed for the rest of the season plus two unguaranteed seasons.

Eh, Turkoglu and Granger were "good vet leaders" who didn't disrupt the chemistry last year and their impact was largely minimal.
