C's are in the drivers seat. We can just let Rivers contract expire vs trading him there.  A 2nd round pick isn't the end of the world.

Why? Why bother with delfino? If anyone under the sun offers a second rounder for rivers the celtics will shake their hand and thank them.

It's nice to have 2nd rounders where we can get the guy we want and have picks in position to do that.  I think we got Glenn Davis that way, but it wouldn't surprise me if teams like the c's blow 2nd round picks on purpose sometimes too just because they have to use them.  They are non guaranteed players.

Clippers have to send out some salary.

I'd be fine with an expiring and a 2nd for Rivers.

Edit: Delfino was waived by the Clips months ago, wasn't he?

Doc really gave his son some bad advice about coming out early.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

I don't think the Clippers have an expiring contract that we would want. Would need to find a 3rd team to take someone like Farmar.

And the Clips are very short on picks.

I'd say you could do it for Wilcox or Bullock, and whichever of their vet min guys they choose (I'd take Udoh).

not sure.

He was waived the week they acquired him.  As was Raduljica, whom they acquired at the same time.

I posted in the Austin Rivers thread that the only combo that works for Boston to not take on salary next year is Udoh and Chris Douglas-Roberts, assuming it's only Rivers to LA and no one else.

I'd take Brooklyn's 2016 second, thank you very much. (They have the right to swap).

I can totally imagine a potential conversation between Doc and Ainge

Ainge to Doc - hey, I got your son now, I can let you guys reunite for cheap, something like a 2nd rounder or something? sound good?

Doc to Ainge - ehh...I'm good

Ainge to Austin - hey, your dad doesn't even think you're worth a 2nd rounder
