It's finally here guys. Outside of Bass this is the young team we've wanted! (at least most of us) We should get a top 4 pick this year and the same the year after. Its honestly kind of exciting. With all these picks and possibilities I'm starting to actually get some hope about the Celtics future. Just need to hit on a draft pick

I've never been happier to be a Celtics fan. They need to lose more and they will. Amazing day!!! Just wish it was last year this happened.

You haven't been a Celtics fan for very long....

How much older is Bradley than the likes of Kelly Olynyk or Sullinger, that he's not part of the future?
He's 24, two years older than Sullinger, one year older than Olynyk. So your point is a good one, especially since he will probably be the leading scorer on this team the rest of the year.

We're horrible now, but still not bad enough to get a top 4 pick.

We're tied for 5th and just blew up the remaining parts of our team We should be worse then the lakers for sure now.
If the draft were today we would be picking 8th not 5th.
www.tankathon.com

I think we can move up to 5th but I don't see us getting any higher than that.

I'm completely on board with the plan. We should trade take the best available center with our first pick then trade up to grab one of the top four small forwards.
I'm tracking the standings here
http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?topic=75437.0

we were bad enough to be 5th worst before the Rondo trade and steaming along towards 4th worst afterwards.  these 2 trades will almost ensure the 4th worst record.  If Minny suddenly gets healthy, we may be close to 3rd worst.
Where are you getting 5th worst? We have been between 8 and 10 for a while.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

We can get 4th if we try hard enough...Lakers are trying their best to win meaningless games in the West.

If Rubio and Pekovic come back to the Wolves soon then it could be a race for 3rd.
Best believe we are going to stink now that Green is gone.
I mean really stink.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I would rather have Rondo.  =)  I know what I get with him.

Yeah, you get a free agent after this season who is signing elsewhere.

--

Green has looked disinterested (again) lately. I'm sure the next time he plays the Celtics he'll go off for 35 and there will be a bunch of "see, look how good he is" posts while simultaneously ignoring the 3 sub-10 point performances leading up to that game. Jeff Green is a good role player. On the Celtics, he didn't have that role (with or without Rondo) and thus was a poor fit.

Wright obviously was a pass-through. It might have been nice to see him in a bigger role for a while just to see what he could do, but it didn't happen.

I don't see either as a big loss - one was a nonentity here and the other was a poor fit who is going to be a FA. These moves free up substantial minutes to develop a lot of young talent on this team that are starving for minutes.

Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

I'm sure more moves will happen even if it's only Nelson being bought out.

Most importantly time to see a lot more of Smart, Young, KO, Sully and Zeller.

You aren't looking at this the right way. This is the beginning of the next great Celtics dynasty. Okafor might have a shot of happening now.

bball insiders is saying that the third team in the green trade is NO, and they will be sending us John Salmons.

So achievement unlocked- we will have Jameer Nelson, Marcus Thornton, Gerald Wallace, John Salmons, and Tayshaun Prince on the same team at the same time. How unreal is that???

This group is on their way out of the NBA ,  not sure of Thortons value ,   ???.  I think only Wallace survives till summer.

I think Thornton, Nelson and Bass have to go, playing Sully will help lose games so we keep him and let him walk or trade him at the end of his rookie contract.

Ah, the dreamers. Things are going to be tough and ugly when you wake up in the draft night.
It's nice seeing him get exposed as overrated after having argued with fellow fans for years that he was overrated.. but I don't hate him. I'm looking forward to seeing him [...] bounce around to a couple more teams... eventually come back to Boston[...] and helps us as a role player until he runs himself out of the league.

I'm thinking that cb8883 is just believing that the ping pong balls will ALL magically fall our way over the next several years. I'm also thinking that cb8883 believes that Danny Ainge is going to convince/cajole/kidnap (lol) a top-flight FA or two over the next few summers to come to BOS.

This frame of thinking reminds me of ME, in 2009-2010. I was one of those delusional fans that believed that BOS was going to upset CLE (which we did in GLORIOUS fashion :)), take down ORL and then beat LA.

We got SO close...and in looking back those were GREAT times. Rondo had shown us glimpses of his greatness back in 08-09, and confirmed it in the CLE series in 09-10.

At least back then, my delusional thinking that BOS could/would defy the odds and beat LA that year was grounded in a lot of truth. KG was almost 2 years removed from his injury, and Rondo was playing out of his mind. Plus, we had this thing called "Celtic Mystique". This "Mystique" caused things to go our way...calls to go in our favor, balls to go through the hoop for us. "Celtic Mystique" was our leprechaun I guess, and a part of Celtics Lore.

Fast-forward to now? The Rebuild is here. CB8883 is one of some posters that's been wishing for this for some time. While Danny has proven to be a prudent and gifted GM I just hope that all goes our way this time.

There is a LOT that has to FALL our way...I just don't think that it's wise to put THAT much stock in luck. But this is Danny.

How may of these upcoming picks could actually fall into the 1-5 range? Anyone knows? We have a LOT of picks, posters are saying, but are we going to have a shot at Jalil or a shot at another Jujuan Johnson :-\?

We said this during the Oden/Durant trade, we did this during the Wiggins/Parker class.

I admire your optimism, but let me ask you this...

During 2007, we still had Paul Pierce and Al Jefferson. In 2014, we have Rondo, Sullinger and Green. What I'm saying is that when we missed during those times, we still had a core that we can retool our roster to try and be competitive along with assets.

Now, we don't have any player in our lineup that can be considered a player who can help a contender, and a ton of picks. If Jahlil Okafor, Emmanuel Mudiaye, Karl Towns, Ben Simmons or Thon Maker doesn't walk through that door, nor if any of those picks doesn't turn into a player we can lean on moving forward, what now?

And you can also replace Danny and Stevens, which the ownership will be inclined to do if we crap out.

The clock is ticking, Danny. 2-3 years to turn this around or I'm hoping that BOS completely wipes the slate, from top to bottom. :(
