It's finally here guys. Outside of Bass this is the young team we've wanted! (at least most of us) We should get a top 4 pick this year and the same the year after. Its honestly kind of exciting. With all these picks and possibilities I'm starting to actually get some hope about the Celtics future. Just need to hit on a draft pick

I'm sure Bass will be gone soon too.

We have too many draft picks currently. Some will have to be traded due to the roster crunch of all the guaranteed rookie contracts.

We're horrible now, but still not bad enough to get a top 4 pick.

It is somewhat liberating. It's kind of like that scene in Fight Club where Brad Pitt burns Ed Norton's hand because they have nothing left to lose or something. They could theoretically trade either Smart/Young/Lotto pick with Wallace and Bradley's deals for a star, then sign superstar FA's. They probably won't.

Spoiler Alert: Tyler Duerden wasn't real.

We're tied for 5th and just blew up the remaining parts of our team We should be worse then the lakers for sure now.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.

That's why god made European players.

Draft and stash baby.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

**** tp. I think the only other thing Ainge might do is a Bass deal other than that I'd say the team is pretty leveled.

I've never been happier to be a Celtics fan. They need to lose more and they will. Amazing day!!! Just wish it was last year this happened.

If the draft were today we would be picking 8th not 5th.

I think we can move up to 5th but I don't see us getting any higher than that.

I'm completely on board with the plan. We should trade take the best available center with our first pick then trade up to grab one of the top four small forwards.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

lol yeah that'll work out well.

Whoops! We have too many picks so we'll start drafting european players, not because we think theyre the best player available but bc we dont have to put them on our roster.

sounds like a recipe for success.

Well, Stu Jackson on NBATV seems to think Danny is doing a fine job.

We'll see.

Perhaps in being up in years I have too many memories of the post Larry-McHale-Chief years...but I can't ignore them, though.

Maybe Jalil is the next Tim Duncan....maybe Thon Maker is the next KG....but it's that "Maybe" that I just don't like.....and even with that, we have to have the ping pong balls fall the right way.

A situation like OKC's won't happen very often...Danny had to have the perfect storm happen just to get KG and Ray Ray here.

Can we honestly believe that a Super Star FA will be swayed to come here next summer? I certainly hope that Danny can convince someone this summer or next. But with Free Agency nowadays, players want to do Super Friends or Justice League and "Team Up" lol

Can't blame them, really...I'd take one look up at the rafters of the Boston Celtics and get intimidated, too - that is asking a LOT of superstars nowadays - to come here and START something new, with all that tradition hanging over their heads.

If Danny did it once, he can do it again. But it's that "can" that could take a LONG time.

I agree.  For the longest time many fans were in rebuild mode where i think Ainge kicked the tires on Kevin Love and was still looking at a lot of scenarios possibly building with Rondo and Green, and just being practical about things.  Now we are in rebuild mode. Better chemistry getting these young guys going now because we at least know the direction.  There were too many sides before where now hopefully we are all on the same page.  I think i kind of realized this before and didn't take sides where I think the celtics have been practical all along just trying to find the right deals.  Just the way I think.  A lot of people don't think that way.
