How anyone can be mad that we are trading an expiring contract bench-player who was a DNP in our only win over the last week - potentially for a 1st round pick - is beyond me.

I am always mesmerized by the people on this board.  Danny Ainge is doing amazing things right now.

I feel like there's no direction to what Ainge is doing.

let me explain it for you, he is going to into beast tank mode.

And I think that sucks.

What's the point of "beast tank mode?"

Where does that get you?

Trades Rondo for nothing. Could've had Mozgov for a couple picks. Now is looking to trade one of the players he got back in the Rondo trade.
Yes, because giving up two first-rounders for Mozgov is a stroke of genius.  ::)

Well, do something with those picks.

Sooner or later, the team is going to need actual players that can play.

What are all these draft picks going to get you, if you don't trade them in?

Are people really expecting the Celtics to draft the next Lebron in the next few years?

Because you will be sadly disappointed.

Seriously. Is gpap secretly Billy King?

Billy is my cousin on my uncle's brother's dad side.

Such an idiot

Makes sense ::)

So keeping Wright would make you feel better about a Rondo trade that you conspicuously loathe?

I feel like there's no direction to what Ainge is doing.
Huh? Are you serious? "No direction"? Repeatedly trading players for draft picks isn't a clear direction? I could imagine a lot of criticisms, but that one seems like willfully ignoring events.

You can disagree with the prudence of his direction, but be reasonable please.

My question is why?

Why is he acquiring all these picks?

Don't you need actual players that can play for you?

Obviously it's too late now, but when is he going to start acquiring talent that can help you now?

Agreed. Stockpiling a lot of protected picks isn't amazing me. What will be the return? A lot of late-round rotation players? He's not pulling off another KG trade with our current crop of assets. If people here aren't excited about it, why would GMs be?

In a few years, we'll be the team trading excess picks to teams for undervalued players, and all of the other team blogs will be going crazy ;D

I just want these posters who keep saying ainge us stacking assets to bring in superstars, please tell me what superstars are walking through the door like kg? There isn't one player of his caliber at the time that is available. So please tell me what superstar we are waiting for?  Mind you no one wants to come to boston, face it. Welcome to 76ers strategy.  Good for us

The 76ers strategy is amazing.  I've been so jealous of that franchise.  They have like 4-5 guys who could end up being superstars.  We have 0.   But the picks are going to help.

In five years, my guess is that the Sixers are still in the lottery.

Poor you.
It's nice seeing him get exposed as overrated after having argued with fellow fans for years that he was overrated.. but I don't hate him. I'm looking forward to seeing him [...] bounce around to a couple more teams... eventually come back to Boston[...] and helps us as a role player until he runs himself out of the league.

Your Joking Right?  The 6ers have tanked year after year and they are still tanking.  76ers will be bottom if the barrel for a long time

I think their team is going to start to take shape next season and improve year-on-year from there on forward.

They are starting to put something nice together there. MCW, Noel, Embiid. Then Saric coming over. Another top five pick. That is a nice nucleus to start moving forward with. Not this coming summer but probably 2016 they'll look to sign some a big name FA to help show young up and coming stars the way.

It's been an ugly two years but things are starting to take shape now. They are almost where they need to be to start moving forward again.

Embiid and who else?  Saric?
