I just re-watched the Celtics Nets game and these 2 guys played very well.

I feel like they are almost equal as players, they both shoot high percentages near the basket, they both run the floor very well, both are smart basketball players.

Plumlee has the athleticism advantage, but Zeller is a better shooter.

If you guys had the power to choose who would it be?

Tyler or Mason?

Zeller, easily, because he can actually make free throws and has some great post moves with either hand.  Why we don't go to him more is puzzling to me.

I think Mason Plumblee has the higher ceiling, so Mason, but I did underestimate Tyler Zeller.

No question Zeller.

I would choose either over Sully.

Plumlee is more physical.  Zeller's got a little better touch.  Overall, about even.  I don't think either of these guys is ever a starter on a contender.  They might be able to fill the 2008 PJ Brown role.

They have epic battles. Reminds me of the old Wilt & Russell days.
Zeller played for UNC, though. Plumlee, Duke. So... I'll take Good vs. BAD/enemy/hateyouforlife!

Before or after his dreadful performance in the preseason, because he looked awful, lol ;D, and I thought, "great, here we go," but I think that Rondo really got him going and he's a lot more comfortable out there now.  I won't lie, though - when we got him, all I thought was, "woo," lol ;D, but his post game surprised me, and, as I've said in other threads, me need to go to him a lot more inside, because his back-to-the-basket game is better than KO and Sully combined, lol. ::) ;D Ugh.

Does any other player interest you on this team besides Sullinger?

edit: to answer the question, probably Plumlee because he seems to be more of a presence on the defensive end, though admittedly I don't follow the Nets or Plumlee much at all. The fact that this is even debatable is impressive though. Zeller was a meh throw-in as a part of that Cleveland deal. Now he's a legitimate starting center. Nice work by DA.

Are you guys joking? I like Zeller, but Plumlee is WAY better than him. He just physically dominates everyone. Zeller competes his ass off, but come on. Plumlee is the only thing keeping the Nets from being one of the worst teams in the league.

We will have to wait and see if Zeller gets into team USA.

I liked Zeller a bit better with Rondo. He's got some of the softest hands in the pick and roll I've seen since I started following the sport. Rare for a thin guy.

Don't really know If I like him playing with Smart since M S isn't the most creative passer, rather see Smart with a strong post presence like an Al Jefferson or Marc Gasol that he could just dump the ball into.

To answer the question though I'd take Plumlee since he's a bit bigger and I think his game's a bit more dynamic.

plumlee looks to have spent his time in gym and seems to elevate quicker but i have a feeling zeller is a thinker and will get much better as this team straightens out.He could wind up the mercedes of centers-a solid ,smart, dependable efficient center and holds his value--remember when he first came up he looked lost and clumsy while he figured things out,now everybody talks about his hands and soft touch-another off season of working out a bit more weight, a rotation that's stable not only offensively but defensively that allows him to be in the right place at the right time and you will have a productive center offensively as well as defensively.

Plumlee by a mile.

However, we have done an effective job increasing Zeller's value by showcasing his strengths while avoiding overexposing him.  Hopefully we will cash out on this asset by the deadline.
