To me: Smart, Young, Crowder, Zeller and Olynyk are worth keeping for the long term. I want to say Sully's in the mix too, but I'm still torn on whether or not KO & Sully can work on the same team.

No not necessarily.  These are the guys who can fetch something in trade. I might keep Young but none of the others will be big stars in this league, just rotation players, at best.

Smart has the most potential of anyone on the team. I think he has several ALL-Star games in his future. It will take a while, but he'll get there.

Smart is the Jeff Green of this draft class: Plenty of skill but will never be an All-Star.  Both were "safe" picks, that is, players who would most likely pan out into something decent but not stars.

It's like, there's this chain of command that Stevens is sticking to. The "guys who's been there". I hate that kind of thinking. At some point this season, you have to throw all of that out the window and get these rooks ready for year 2.

More minutes to the young guys, means, by definition, less for the vets. Stevens doesn't have the courage to cut their minutes. Hence, the status quo will be preserved until Ainge makes a move.

Big difference between those two: heart and fire. Green has never had it, but it's never been a question if Smart has had it.
