Chris Forsberg really does a great job on ESPN blog and this time he analysed James Young's performances in D-League and the aspects of his game that are keeping him from getting minutes with the Celtics.
Watching that video of Young scoring 27 points in 32 minutes I agree with Forsberg: offense is not his problem.

Will be fun to see him get some NBA minutes. Probably will happen after the trade deadline.  Right now we have too many players we need to showcase for trades. Young probably has a long term role here.

On young, I wish the article has been more specific on exactly how is young is improving. Still, a nice read and good to see he takes defense seriously.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Young's biggest deficiency is his defense which isn't going to improve in the no-D league.  With some experience, he should develop into an average NBA defender. Offensively he pretty much plants himself behind the 3pt line and waits for someone to get him the ball.  He's excellent at the catch and shoot but needs improvement on creating his own shot.  He's definitely not shy about shooting.  He seems to be a decent ball handler and passer.  At worst, I see him as a potent bench scorer but he's got the talents to become a quality starter.

I'm sorry, but that thread was not locked due to any comments I made. I started the thread, and it was locked after about 6 pages of other posters going back and forth, in a circular argument, about Rondo's worth. Had nothing to do with me. I simply wanted to reply to a comment that I found (among many others from a particular poster) to be disrespectful. Don't believe I did so in a combative way, either.

Maybe Ray Allen with that nice release. His handle still has to improve.

Is no one paying any attention to wdleehi at all? Let's not lock this thread as well, ok? It is a potentially good one.

Back to young please, I think he needs chances to practice, practice, practice defense. In the Dleague he can at least practice individual defense. In the nba he gets less practice and potentially the celtics pay a price for his learning.

Keeping him in the Dleague makes sense to me.

Well I think it's unfair to the previous poster to be singled out. Also, there was no explanation on the previous thread to why it was locked. I found that pretty annoying.

Young and the restless? ::) Oh man.

I particularly enjoy this part, lol -

Quote
...there's a case to be made that getting young players extended NBA minutes could expedite their development.

I also like the article that's advertised at the end of the young and the breastless ;) about us getting bumped from our only game on national television this year, lol.

Quote
The NBA announced Saturday that the Boston Celtics have been bumped from their lone national TV appearance for the 2014-15 season.

Boston's visit from the Eastern Conference-leading Atlanta Hawks was scheduled to be broadcast by ESPN, but was dropped in favor of a Wizards-Bulls matchup.

I, for one, am shocked (sarcasm), lol. ;) ::) ;D
