What is going on with Larry Sanders??

He missed his 5th games due to "personal reasons" according to Jason Kidd and Kidd has NO idea when he will return!!!!

What is the deal?

I had heard rumors that he has a drinking problem.  Is there any truth to this rumor??  Is he in rehab somewhere and they are keeping that under the hat so as to not ruin any possible trade value??

Does anyone know why he is not back playing and when he might be back?

All of this makes me upset because now Henson is playing more minutes and playing well, making him virtually impossible to trade for and I have wanted him in green as a rim protector for some time.

My guess is drinking and/or weed. He had openly stated his support for smoking weed not long so ago and got some flack for it. Vin Baker 2.0

Sanders is a headcase of epic proportions + has a history of off the court issues. He has all the talent in the world but he'll never really reach his potential because he is an idiot, especially now that he's gotten a nice pay day. Kidd basically told him to stay away from the team.

Pretty much. They basically gave an immature guy a big day before he actually earned it. That's the problem with paying for a potential - especially when work ethic is in question.

I don't know. He's got what two more years on his deal? At least Wallace isn't a headcase or distraction this year like Sanders is.

Alcohol maybe.
But nobody has ever had a "weed problem". It could make him unmotivated but that would be the only problem he could have from it!

The funny thing is I see every week someone wanting to give up anything and everything for this kid, and yet he has never done anything, other than negative issues.

If we got Sanders, gave him the rest of the season off to get his head straight with someone like Chris Herron as a mentor, if he came back next year clean we could have a steal on our hands.  He is a very talented defender who could fit great on this roster then we go after a young guy in the draft as a backup/Sanders insurance and we are solid in the front court.
