17 points and 10 rebounds in 25 minutes and a +16.

Maybe he should have played more.

Someone in the media absolutely has to confront Stevens over this kind of nonsense.  He's done the same thing with Thornton, leaving him on the bench even when he's playing well.

I have to agree. He can't have it both ways and say they're trying to win and keep doing stuff like that. It's one or the other.

I've said all along that Zeller should play over 33 minutes a game...Cleveland pulled this same stuff when he was there...All i hear is how Zeller is a backup center...If they would give him his minutes on a consistent basis, he stats would be outstanding...Zeller is a good player with alot of skill...Let him play...

Bingo.

Stevens is doing everything possible to make sure we don't get a playoff spot.

And the East is so bad, that not making the playoffs is a really hard thing to do.

I wonder if Zeller can slide to PF?

He seems mobile enough, and spacing wise, I believe he can hit jumpers. He'll add length and hustle on that frontcourt once we ads a legit Center.

Either way, I want to keep him.

Exactly right...Zeller should be playing more, more good things seem to happen when he's in the game. Let him gain some more confidence and experience. Zeller has more up side remaining, plus he's still young. We acquired him for nothing let him develop.

Seriously, If this team makes the playoffs, I'll laugh, shake my head and then scream.

I think it's more than just tanking.  Stevens is actually trying to develop players and have them improve aspects of their game.  It's no different than smart imo.  Stevens could just throw him out there and have him play 35 mpg and shoot the ball terribly if we wanted to tank but he is moving smart around h aving him watch at times and just learn the game from different areas. Having KO come off the bench is the same thing.  Tommy basically said it that KO's post game is still a work in progress.  Smart's offense is too.  ZEller isn't the greatest defender on the planet.

There probably are better ways to match lineups and gain consistency and an identity if we were really trying to win games but overall long run this is best.

I guess that's tanking though.  Having them learn in a losing environment and protecting them a bit and keeping the long run in mind.

Zeller looks like a keeper to me though.  All you media people who want to harass these guys though let the people who know what they are doing do their jobs.  It's no different than constantly bothering DA about Rondo.  He moved him when he was ready to do that and made the right move.  Can't stand just drawing up controversy for the sake of it.  It's pointless.

C's are showing patience, why can't you?

That might explain Stevens having Sully jack up threes like a maniac last season.  How does not playing Zeller help anyone improve their game?

we have too many players as it stands as well.  STevens has to play them all and find lineups and all that stuff.  I expect a trade at some point.  At least Zeller is playing. James Young isn't playing at all yet.  Marcus Thornton is hurt too and we still can't get Young time.

We have Zeller, Sully, KO, Bass, Crowder, Wright all need to get time.  Easier said than done just giving Zeller the job.

I agree.

To me, Zeller is just fine as a serviceable Center.  I mean, once you get passed the top five centers in the league, everyone else is just about mediocre...give or take.

I am not so sure.  I mean I can see DA limiting  Stevens chances to win by giving him a horrible team to coach, but to say that players and coaches are throwing games?  Players are fighting for minutes and stats.  That's the only way they can secure a future in the NBA.  Can't imagine a player tanking so that a rookie takes his spot/minutes.   Same goes for the coach.

Don't you think he has earned it with his recent play?   I know I do.
