green does indeed look glum. but if he'd lived up to expectations, then the team might not have gone in this direction in the first place.
i wonder if memphis might want him? maybe a trade of green for price's expiring + 2014 #22 pick jordan adams. maybe we also give them a 2nd-rounder as well. memphis desperately needs more scorers who can create their own shots in crunch-time. as fantastic as their defense may be, i think it's highly unlikely they win a title unless they get another scorer.
that rudy gay salary dump is looking pretty stupid right now, he might not be the most efficient player ever, but, like green, he can manufacture points against good defenses.

I call Green, Mr. October.

Because he always plays like it's preseason.

I guess that's what happens when you try to win games for a living and the team's best player is traded.

It must be adding insult to injury that the coach is Mr. Rogers asking you to "buy in" when the organizational direction is clearly the opposite of "win now."

Since when did Green try?

In this silly thread, people are concerned that Green "looks miserable".   In a past thread, people ripped on Sully for laughing after he had a bad play.  The next thread will be about a player who doesn't stand up straight during the national anthem.  It's like this site is full of people who think they are Dr Phil.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

When has Green been known for not trying??

Since forever.

Rondo took a rebound away from him tonight.

I think the ball boy kicked sand in his face too.

I didn't know that losing a rebound meant that you had a reputation for not trying.  Reach.

Sometimes I wonder if you can blame a player for not trying to win, when the player knows the organization that is running things isn't trying to win. The team is rebuilding, if you play too good, you'll get traded, if you play too poorly, you'll get traded.

No, that's what happens when you're playing for an incompetent coach who doesn't know how to win a game even if he wanted to.

Seriously, how in the world would it be good to be Green right now?  The rebuild teardown part 2 has started.  He is expected to be a go to scorer which he isn't.  The only other NBA player with extensive playoff experience just got traded for peanuts.  I am thinking green is just hoping that DA trades him soon and gets it over with so Jeff can move on.

So yeah, I think he looks miserable too.  It is too bad, I like JG.  He gets way to much blame for not being the 2nd coming of PP.

Nelson has more than twice the playoff experience of Green.

But yeah, given the way players think Green probably wants to be traded ASAP so he can put up big numbers to get a big contract in the off-season--even though he's in prime position to put up big numbers as the best player and number one option on this team.

Well I was talking about the players before the trade, but ok....

Seriously, did anyone catch some of the shots of him tonight? He looks like it is agony out there for him. It is getting to the point that if his expressions are any indication of his state of mind the Celtics need to move him. There seems to be no indication that he is part of the long term plans so at this point whatever the best deal is, take it. He seems to have no fire to play anymore. His numbers have dipped since Rondo has left. I do not blame him but he needs to go.
DID YOU WATCH THE GAME?

Yup. Has looked miserable since the day Rondo was traded. Realizes the team is going absolutely nowhere except the lottery. Has lost faith in situation. Realizing he needs to leave the team if he wants to play for a winner again. No future here.

This.

Green realizes he's on borrowed time.

He probably just wants a resolution.
