I would have fouled Rondo every time down the court.

Stevens is a wuss.

We had a bad shooting night. So what?

We have six first round picks in the next two years.
Clips, Cleveland and Dallas will be in the 20's.  won't find building block players in that range.  also counting on the Nets to stink next year and the C's not to make any major improvements the next 2 years.  but then again, you've continuously stated your love of the lottery as the solution to everything

And?

I've never seen such excitement over flippin' draft picks.

How about actual players that can contribute NOW?

Also, memo to Smart: STOP fouling!!

i would have held on to rondo and take our chances with a sign and trade or wait for a better offer pre-trade deadline. i didn't like the return from the mavs then, and i like it less now - brandan wright is a decent role player on a good/great team, and he was the freaking centerpiece. he can't even get much burn here. garbage return. would have preferred keeping rondo and trade him later. i mean, honestly, would the return have been much worse? arguable.

I think Danny wanted to part ways fast .....a I think the situation between the Coach, players, Rondo and everybody was going down hill fast.   He wanted to move on fast as possible.  I hate losing Rondo ,but it wasn't in the cards for either party to work out.

And you keep saying that.

Until any or all of those picks turn into a franchise player, they are not a measurement of how good Ainge has been as a GM.

Also, two of those picks may end up in the 20's, which is practically of little value.

Bullsh...

Ellis was the 40th pick in the draft.
well that's it then.  why aren't you bragging about all those second rounders we have?  that must be the solution.  get lots of second rounders because THAT'S where the talent is!  let's trade those 6 firsts over the next 2 years and get more second rounders    ::)

Someone said this earlier in the thread. The Celtics right now bear no resemblance to a team. It is a bunch of individuals auditioning and it has been the same way for the last year and a half. It is pretty hard to watch this stuff, but I will continue. It just is not a team at all. There is no there there.

You know--maybe Ainge is a genius for acquiring all these picks---But there has to be a feeling around the league, that Danny has ZERO Loyalty to his players--NONE...Look how he Dumped Perkins...had Ray Allen on the block constantly...and got rid of KG/PP/Rondo at the very first scent of Draft Picks....I'm 50/50 when it comes to Ainge--I HATED the Perkins trade--cause it Gutted our Team Chemistry in a season where we were crushing games.

Draft Picks and Cap Space are fine...But it truly might take another 20+ years for this Celtics team to sniff a Finals again...I Highly doubt that some free agent is gonna sign with DANNY AINGE.

It might be another twenty years, but at least we won't have to suffer through any mediocrity while we wait.

We could successfully end up being a lottery team every year for the next twenty years.

I have no problem with the process of watching young guys develop. I have a problem watching crap veterans still being the focal point over the young guys.

Depends on how you want to look at it, I guess.  It could be seen as loyalty that he sent KG and Pierce to a far better situation.   He sent Rondo to a better situation this year.  Rondo wasn't happy... he was obviously mailing it in, now trying in practice and was unhappy we didn't land superstars this summer.  We send him to a team that he can play competitive basketball with.  Maybe he'll show his appreciation this summer by returning if we can find some stars to stick him with.
