I would say SG, but that maybe just because he currently looks a lot more like Reggie Miller than Lebron James. I am not sure 'filling out' is going to particularly help him - I think he just needs to get comfortable playing in the NBA first.

As for Ainge saying he's a SF - what was he supposed to say? We already had AB and Rondo and had just drafted Smart. If the 'plan' was to actually keep all of these players, then why would we draft another guard? I think he was just covering for himself.

I think Young is the kind of guy who you try to hide on defense by having him guard whichever wing is weaker.  If you had Bradley, Smart, and Young in the game, Smart would probably guard whoever is the better offensive player.  You probably hope to stick Young on a 3-and-D guy who likes to stand in the corner and wait to be open, but Young seems like the kind of player who will make mistakes such as leaving his man or allowing an easy cut to the basket.

He's a 3, but can be played at a 2 guard in some situations.  I liked the lineup of:

Smart
Young
Crowder
Green
Pick a Center

It's only a situational lineup, but an intriguing one for mismatches at times.

I think right now he is a 2 as he is so perimeter oriented.   Wing might be a better team for him.  He  does not have much in terms of rebounding or attack the rim or have displayed what I would call forward skills.  He might grow into either but right now he is a pure wing player.  He could grow into a PP sized 3, but so far I don't see the toughness in him to do that.

He just resigned Bradley, of course he wouldn't say Young is a 2. But he is.
