Regardless on what position he plays, his offense won't change, we still don't know what position he'd guard better. Right now with his current strength/body he looks better suited to guard SG's.
But say we are to draft a SF like Stanley Johnson this upcoming draft, than for sure James Young becomes a SG, if we don't than we'll have him keep working in the weight room to add more muscle mass, hoping he becomes strong enough to guard full time in that position.
It's pretty clear and understood that Ainge is making moves with 2 options in mind. His decisions are versatile.
Draft Olynyk a year after Sullinger, Smart with Rondo on his contract year, James Young instead of readier guys like Gary Harris knowing Jeff Green can and most likely will opt out.
It'll take time but he's positioning us in a good way, but it requires patience.
On top of Ainge's youth movement plans, he still retains in the position to trade for a star player, but I don't ever count on that ever happening, those are always extremely rare situation. But if it present itself Ainge will be ready.
