It's amazing to think of what Cousins could be if he didn't have the mentality of a 5 year old throwing a tantrum constantly...
agreed

Ugghhh. I hate rebuilding. I'm glad that we're winning, and I want us to win. But I realize now that pretty much every win for us the rest of the season just hurts our draft position. With the draft lottery format more than likely changing before the draft, we can definitely make it down to the highest five odds at the bottom of the draft.

anyone else watching the Kings thinking they're so far away from being a playoff team it's sad.  A top center (with attitude issues) and a solid SF in Gay and they're going nowhere.  Rondo would have helped their awful offense but not sure he'd even be enough to get them in the right direction

He was fine until they fired their head coach without telling him. Mike Malone spent valuable time (years) developing a close relationship with Cousins and helping him mature. Cousins was very close with him, and the Kings were overachieving this year. Cousins had actually just put it together the past year and a half and was playing fantastic basketball with very few issues.

This would have been the basketball equivalent of firing Brad Stevens, letting Walter be the HC, and not telling any of the players. Imagine if Rondo was still here. He'd probably be irate. Heck, look at what Green looks like post-trading-best-player. Imagine if the coach was gone and no one told him!

Now, Cousins, the supposed face of the franchise that committed to a team long-term, finds out about a huge organizational move over Twitter? All he knows about the owner is that he wanted to play 4-on-5 defense and shoot three pointers. I wouldn't be happy if I was him, either.

They were overachieving until Cousins got hurt (I'm pretty sure they were a playoff seed). They just fired their head coach of three years. Their offense is probably in a flux. It took Stevens a full year to even come up with a solid offense. The owners set the team back a few years with the coaching move.

The amount of times the kings are playing 4 on 5 because Cousins is loafing on the other end of the court is amazing to watch
He's actually loafing at both ends.

Yet the Kings new coach does nothing about it, this will continue and get worse with the lack of stones the new coach has.

Ty Corbin is a puppet. Hands down the worst coach in the league.

I think that's why you're seeing Cousins acting out.  He's been an energetic, team player all season, diving for loose balls, cheering on teammates, etc.  Then, they fired his coach and de-emphasized defense, and it looks like it's gotten under Cousins' skin.

I believe today was only his 2nd technical of the season.

Wish we could have gotten McLemore for Rondo still...

Supposedly the owner wanted Chris Mullen to take the job and he wouldn't because he knows that with no training camp and few practices, it would be very, very difficult to have any impact.

also, seeing Gay play -- I thought he and Green were roughly equal.  not anymore.  Green clearly looks like the superior player.  also not seeing any reasons to be enamored with Mclemore or Stauskas as several posters have been in their Rondo-to-Kings proposals earlier this year

Haha I hope this doesn't turn into as bad as it was last year with Green.
