I fail to see how Boston could facilitate a deal for somebody like Mozgov at 4.7M.  Cleveland has to produce some outgoing salary.  All they have is Waiters.

Cleveland has a $5.4 million trade exception from sending Bogans to Philly, so they're looking for players in that price range
I'm bitter.

Anderson V just went down, and they were looking for centers before that.

Wright is at $5 million, Bass is at $6.95 million.

The article mentions that the Cavs were interested in Koufos from Memphis.  Memphis could sure use Green and Prince is a good salary match. The Cavs have a protected 1st rounder from Memphis which would be a good return for Green.  Seems like the makings for a good trade that helps all parties.

Right, but the article suggests that we would be a 3rd party used to facilitate such a deal.  In what scenario can Boston help the Cavs acquire Mosgov? They already have an exception that would cover his salary.

Logically, Boston would be interested in the Memphis first rounder, but what service would we be rendering?

Ugh, I'd hate to get just that pick for Green, especially since the protections on it (1-5 and 15-30 in 2015 and 2016, 1-5 in 2017 and 2018, unprotected in 2019) essentially make it a 2017 pick
I'm bitter.

Probably sending an asset (young player or vet) to the other team in exchange for the pick from Cleveland (presumably, the other teams want something more immediate)

Maybe I'm just emotional about the last few games, but I'd make that trade today. That'd give us multiple 1sts in the next 4 years. Is that Dick Dastardly as your avatar?

We already have 2 1sts in 2015 and 4 in 2016.  We only have so many spots available so I think a 2017 pick works out better.  Playing around with the trade machine, it looks like there are various combinations.  Somebody mentioned getting Jordan Adams in a previous proposed Green/Prince trade.

I'd rather hold out on Green, I think we could do better (and I want picks in 2015 or 2016, not 2017)

The Memphis pick feels like a pretty light return for Green.  But, something like this, with CLE's Memphis pick and a distant future pick coming to the Celtics?

More 2015 and 2016 picks means more opportunities to combine them and move up.  I just don't see teams holding a 2017 pick likely in the 20s in the same regard as they would a similar pick, but in the same year (as in, a 2015 pick in 2015)

I really like the top of the 2015 and 2016 drafts (where I think/hope Danny ill trade into), too, while the 2017 draft is still unknown
I'm bitter.

Oh, my bad. They look alike to me. I'm sure they get that all the time.

You might be able to get someone to throw in a 2nd rounder but you're not going to get two 1st rounders for Green.  Have you already forgotten how little we got in the Rondo trade?  Green is going to opt out so he's a half year rental just like Rondo.

Hard to get excited about a future Memphis second rounder, but I'm curious what people think of this deal.   Say, a #25 and a #50 pick for Green.
