You'd think so... But part of me thinks it's a way of not totally losing the locker room and trying to keep everyone somewhat satisfied.

His decisions seem more focused on not hurting feelings more than developing players.

Considering Wallace doesn't play, I'm not sure that's true.

Maybe they think Crash doesnt have trade value, therefore doesnt need showcasing?

I think you are exactly right.  I'm actually shocked that he's not angry and complaining.

Wallace plays... More than he should, and certainly more than most on this board intimate. He's played in 12 games which I think means he's certainly not a given for a DNP-CD

So is Olynyk only playing 15 mins a game now? What is up with this 12 player roatation?
thats the trouble with having several mediocre redundant players...  They are all interchangeable and all average or less than average.
That bugs me about Stevens. The "everybody must play" "be fair to everyone" stuff.

Pick the guys that are most important to the team and it's future and prioritize them.

This is the way Mr. Rogers would coach

Or someone coaching a little league team.

This is what I think so often when I see how Stevens distributes minutes = little league coach.

So I looked at Butler's minutes distribution when he was coaching.

Since 09-10 until he left, he has always went 9 deep on players playing 10+ minutes, and has played his starters heavy.

I don't know why Brad is distributing minutes to a lot of players here, but this convinced me that this is more about the FO telling him to play everyone. I mean, his history coaching in college when it comes to giving minutes is night and day compare to what he's doing in Boston.

He's showcasing...

Interesting. TP.

Bass must go. Probably Wright as well. Sully, Olynyk and Zeller need more minutes.
yep. There's no point to play Bass 4-5 minutes a half. Wright didn't seem like the answer that people were talking about. Unless he's rolling to the rim, he looks clueless. On defense, he tried to box someone out on the weak side from 20 feet instead of going in for the rebound. I feel like we're going to have a lot of what are you doing moments with his Wright guy.

I wonder if Stevens just lacks the backbone to tick someone off.

It also irritates the heck out of me how doesn't get on top of his team and try to energize them when things are going badly. Just sits back and lets the team blow lead after lead without so much as a peep out of him. Players blowing defensive assignment, taking bad shots on offense, over dribbling. Nothing. Just sits back and watches his team blow another lead.

Sometimes a coach needs to upset people. I have not seen Stevens be willing to do that.

LOL this is how I've felt for sometime about Stevens. He just doesn't want to upset anyone. He'll probably take Pressey, who is his favorite, out for pizza and a sundae for not playing him tonight.

LOL.... Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I remember, Keith Bogans gave Stevens a hard time last season for not playing him--hence why he was sit home. Maybe that negative experience has had an impact.
Maybe we need to resign Bogans so we can shorten this rotation.

Chalmers easily taking Bradley to the hoop. Sigh, what happened to that defensive bulldog we all used to love.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

Hahahaha, TP. This is how Wright manages to be both a good shot blocker and an otherwise meh defender. Poor BBIQ.

I think he lost step which is worrisome since he's so young. He used to be so quick side to side.

There is not enough penetration on offense. Celtics need a guard who can get by his man and draw a second defender so team can attack a scrambling defense. Nobody here who commands double teams. It is down largely to dribble penetration.

I hope this doesn't become like last season. The offense was unbearable to watch at times. So many contested shot attempts. Always working against a set defense because nobody could force the team defense off balance.
