Where does Rondo rank amongst all time Celtic point guards? I think it's fair to argue that he might be the second best point guard ever play for the Celtics. That said, he should have his number retired.

History will remember him slightly more fondly than Antoine Walker, because he was a part of our championship team and made an extra all-star appearance.

I don't think so. Love Rondo, but he's no Paul Pierce.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Probably not. Who had a bigger impact on the C's Rondo or Antoine Walker?

He did a lot more in the playoffs and Antoine Walker ever did. Remember that 2009 series against Chicago? Give me a break, that's a terrible comparison.

Funny, thought of Walker at the same time. I think they are about equal.

What about the Nets series for Walker and the comeback...

Agreed, lesser contribution than KG in the end.

I think KG is about as far as you can stretch a jersey retirement.

Walker was the reason we lost that series!!!! He got destroyed.

Looked like a beached whale trying to cover Kenyon and play help defense.

Edit: Just checked Toine scored 4 points during the 25 point comeback in the late 3rd/4th. He also gave up 3 shooting fouls and got a fair amount of rebounds, but he wasn't the reason we came back at all. The vast majority of his points while the C's were getting stomped.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Led the league in assists, three times while in Boston.

Lots of great Playoff performances.

I'd say bring it up.

Which, really, is the best summation of Antoine Walker's Boston experience that I've ever heard.

4 really good years of Celtics Basketball, 4th best player on a championship team. I love his play as much as anyone but that is not enough in my opinion.

Sean Grande and Cedric Maxwell both answered this question with a "Yes".

Maxwell went on to say, "Heck he was here longer than me and has more all-Star appearances"

For what it's worth.

And the multiple all defensive teams and the multiple trip dubs and the multiple times he led the league in assists.
