How do you know that he was going to bail?  Just like Pierce and KG, he WANTED TO STAY.
Of course he wanted to stay. He also wanted entirely too much money.

Which is a great justification to just accept a garbage deal instead of trying to find something better, right?

Of course it is...

Given how vocal you have been this evening, I am sure you must have some inside knowledge that Danny passed up some other super-awesome deal to take this one. Since the rest of us are mere mortals and therefore have no inside knowledge of this incredible missed opportunity, please enlighten us so that we may also share in your despair.

Although Wikipedia lists him at 210 pounds -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandan_Wright

I trust ESPN more on this one

Does it matter what the correct number is?

Dude is skinny.

dude he is not 210.   After 7 seasons don't you think he has been able to add some pounds/strength along the way

I'd like to see him go at it with Al Jefferson, or Al Horford, or Roy Hibbert down low, seeming as you want him to be our Center. He can prove me wrong there. I dont think he will, but sure, by all means.

The whole weight thing is a flawed argument.  Last I checked, Anthony Davis is a pretty skinny dude and he's a beast.  Not saying that Wright is a comparable talent, just saying that weight isn't the be all end all.

+1. Wright and Chandler are similar kind of players. Putting both out on the floor at the same time = deficiencies in some areas

Now put Wright and KO or Wright and Sully.  We have been asking for a guy like this to match up with the intelligent but below the rim KO/Sully

Great article on Wright READ IT FOLKS

http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fancy-stats/wp/2014/05/02/why-cant-the-mavericks-brandan-wright-get-more-playing-time/

the quote from that I like the most: "... Wright’s workout for Phoenix when Elhassan was a scout for the Suns. Referring to the occasional practice of having a player work out with a chair in place of a defender, ElHassan recalled that “the chair won.” So maybe he isn’t the greatest practice player...."

muhaha at least I would have fouled the chair pretty hard to prevent him from scoring on me  ;D

Now we disagree again.
Who said that didn't try to find something better?  If Ainge thinks he can flip one or more of these guys later, the deal had to get done now.  Everyone is assuming that Ainge had a bunch of great offers on the table and took a crappy deal instead.  If the overall plan is to trade Rondo, then why wait
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

No i don't. But it's very easy to say that there's about 2 months before the trade deadline, he could have easily worked the phones and possibly got a better offer. If not, then it's not for lack of trying. And this deal would probably still be on the table in the next week, or two, or a month.

Getting this deal, on a December, is either panicking or just basically just giving Rondo away.

Brother, he's got two months before the trading deadline... There's PLENTY of time to work a deal, a better deal. I would get this if this is the deadline, but we're at 30 games in.

Don't give me the "he didnt try hard". He tried, but not hard.

Heck we shouldn't have done the KG and Allen trade then. Go cry somewhere else. Stop derailing the thread.  :-*

Can you answer me

Danny gave Rondo a list of teams as to who he might consider signing an extension with. Which teams did Rondo say yes to??

If he doesn't promise with a team like the Lakers etc. what will they give up for a half a year rental?  Will they even want to do a trade?

Trading Rondo by the end of the day tomorrow meant that we can re-trade the guys we acquired before the trading deadline, either alone or in a package.

It was very deliberate that we did this now, Danny just never made a peep about it until the day got close.   Remember Houston unsuccessfully tried the same thing with Asik last year.

Did he said he'll sign an extension with Dallas?

And even if he did, you still try to work on a better deal and do a chump change deal like this when there's actually nothing else.

He had plenty of time, man. Plenty of time. Dont tell me that he cant come back to those teams Rondo listed by trade deadline when he cant find a deal that's better than this?

"Ainge SUCKS".  Same message, different thread. Old news.
You didn't like Zeller deal?  Or the Smart draft pick?  Or the Olynyk pick?  I think he's done a pretty good job overall.  He got the C's a championship and should have had at least 2 if it wasn't for some questionable officiating and bad luck. Gotta give him credit for that.  He made the C's relevant and I wouldn't be surprised if he does it again.

Well, great. We traded a guy who leads the league in assists today for a bench guy, so that we can flip that bench guy again come trade deadline.

BTW, what do you think we can get for the bench guy and the late first round pick? Will it land us a four time All Star and an league leader in assists, or someone close?
