He had to pull the trigger now or we miss out on the Okafur sweepstakes.

We've got a great chance at Okafur, Towns or Muiday now.

I'm actually pretty excited for the draft.

Me too. Those three guys are spectacular. Franchise player level talent.

I hope nobody goes to any of the Celtics home games for the rest of the year, and they fire Danny Ainge in a panic.

He has destroyed this franchise. We should be chasing him out of town.

Sure, they all project as future superstars.

I'll bet good money the Celtics don't end up with any of them.  Tanking is a risky gamble, that rarely pays off.

Probably longer than that.

They clearly do not deserve my attention.  Not even getting a single good draft pick for Rondo?

Ainge should be fired over this.

Ainge always sucked. Can't believe it took this long for people to realize.

Well said, TP. :'(

I will.  They're my team and I've certainly watched worse renditions than this one.
Yup

Don't worry, we won't.  This whole thing with Ainge and the lottery is like Charlie Brown and the football, imo.

Wahhh wahh wahhhhh

Rondo was not as good as you thought he was. HE. CANT. SHOOT

wooopdiedoo triple doubles most meaningless stat in sport. Yes he is an elite passer, but thats about it...

THis trade finally signals that Ainge is going to completely rebuild and give us hope.

There are some dark years ahead of us. Boston is probably not going to contend for the next 20 years to come. And I doubt that any free agent would like to come to Boston now that Rondo isn't here :-X

None came while he was here? Or does Victa count as an elite player?

Rondo, great player while playing with great players. No great players to get. James took Love, McHale took Howard, Doc has Paul..

U now take the Pacers approach. Need to Scout well and rebuild in the next 4 years...

You've got to suffer through the bad years to be able to gloat during the good.

Not a surprising thread, I would expect someone who is not a Celtics fan to not want to watch Celtics games. Not sure why this needed its own individual thread to find out that only Celtics fans watch the Celtics.

Tremendous value for a declining player. Good move by Ainge. Glad he didn't waste max money on a player performing at a below-average level.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."
