I'm hoping for Houston. Would love to see Danny help McHale to a championship this year.

It's gotta be the Kings. They're the only ones willing to approach Danny's price. Lol it would be funny if DA traded rondo just to sign him with cap space next year.
Their owner said he wants the next coach to be a "Jazz Director".

Sounds like someone who probably appreciates Rondo's game.

I'm feeling a Rondo for McLemore plus picks trade coming.

Sacramento really seems like a perfect storm of assets we might be interested in and a willingness to pay a high price to get talent there.  Every other possibility either seems too tightfisted to pay us or lacking the assets to make the deal make sense.  Three-way deals are always possibilities, though.

I agreed that Sacramento home for rondo if we are going to trade him
So... business as usual?

Is there any new info here? You would think Rondo's been traded 5 times over with so many reporters and analysts and league sources saying a deal is on the way. Can someone just let me know when it actually happens already? At this point, I hope he is traded (my hope is Dallas and to a lesser extent Sac), I think it'll be nice to watch him play for a solid fan base before his career is over.

The Boston Celtics are exhibiting a renewed willingness to pursue trade packages that include point guard Rajon Rondo, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

As much as ever in his nine seasons in Boston, the Celtics have left strong impressions with rival organizations that they’re prepared to make a deal that includes Rondo, sources said. Boston has been engaged in discussions described as “serious” in recent days, but no trade agreement is imminent.
Boston's asking price for Rondo remains "pretty high, probably higher than most want to pay," one league official told Yahoo.

Trade talks with Rondo have been focused more in the Western Conference than Eastern, sources said.

Boston has been consistently shopping forward Jeff Green, trying to acquire a package that includes a first-round draft pick, sources said. Rondo being available would suggest Celtics general manager Danny Ainge is prepared to undergo a deeper rebuilding project and push harder for the highest possible draft position in the 2015 NBA draft.

Rondo, 28, will be a free agent in July, and Boston has been reluctant to meet his hope for a maximum – or near max – contract extension. Boston has been pleased with rookie point guard Marcus Smart, and could decide to turn the team over to him in a post-Rondo era.

Rondo has averaged eight points, 10.6 assists and 7.5 rebounds a game this season.

So if teams like Dallas and Houston are interested, what are we getting from them for Rondo? This rebuild is looking like it's going to be longer than the Brad Stevens Era.

I wonder if the Bucks would take Jeff. He has a player option so they aren't handcuffed to him and he could be a decent fill while Jabari rehabs is ACL. As for Rondo Idk what they are going to do. I would want a big coming back in any deal. We have Marcus for the future and don't need another spot starter. Also we have AB here for 4 more years so a deal for Mclemore would be strange to me as well.

I'd really laugh if Houston pulls off a trade for him, because there's no way that Rondo and Harden would thrive together. Harden is incredibly ball-dominant just like Rondo, so that's a huge clash of styles. I think Sac, LAL, and NYC are the biggest players here. If LA could guarantee a top five pick, you'd almost have to do it.

I wonder which teams have shown the most interest.

Teams with a need or have shown prior interest:

LAL
Houston
Dallas
Sacramento
I would like to see Sacramento somehow manage to get Josh Smith, Gay and Rondo together.

Trading Jeff to the Bucks for a big makes sense.  True

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
My unlikely attempt at trading Green and Rondo
To OKC: Green and Darren Collison
To Sacramento: Rondo
To Boston: Reggie Jackson, McLemore, Perkins and Derrick Williams

We get two young guy and expiring contracts, Sacramento gets Rondo and OKC gets Green and Collison to man their second unit as well as trading Reggie before he becomes a free agent and asks for too much money.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I think Rondo has appeal either for what he could bring to a team this year, or also maybe having his Bird rights to some teams. For the latter I would think the Kings would be the most interested in locking him up after this season, in hopes money outweighs a more attractive destination.

Henson or Sanders? If we're "developing talent" again this year, a.k.a. tanking, I'd rather not take a chance on Sanders and hope to get one of the top C's in this years draft, preferably Towns then Okafor then WCS.

I think the Bird rights are appealing to LAL and NYC, too, though they're more attractive than Sacramento.

Welp, the rebuilding looks like it will be extended even more. Could be another 5 to 8 years. Cap space and picks are nice but if you have no one on the roster no ones coming. You also need to get lucky in lottery and we have seen how unlucky they have been in the past.

So what's the wish list beyond -

McLemore and draft pick
T.Jones and draft pick

For *both* Green and Rondo, I'd want an all star.  That's a lot of salary to be moving for picks and prospects.

Here's my list--

Horford
Carmelo
Smith & Drummond
DeMarcus
Faried, Afflolo, 1st

DeMarcus isn't an all star if healthy, he's a superstar. The rest are interesting, but may or may not be on team with a PG need. Carmelo's contract is a lot for someone heading into their mid 30's.

If straight asset collection is the name of the game, Houston could offer:

Capela
N Johnson
New Orleans 1st (2016)
Own future 1st
salary filler (Terry, Dorsey, etc)

Can't really say that things are heating up yet on the trade front, but even some pre-heat buzz is a little energizing.

I am sure of very little when it comes to what I hope will happen, but I think I'll be happiest if DA does not try to get immediately better and continues a 3-5 year plan with young talent, cap room, and the #1s.   Trade for some upside youth, expiring deals (or soon to be), and more #1s.     I don't see any scenario that would get me excited for a playoff run this year.  No Rodney Rogers/ Tony Delk facades.   Future assetts.
