Second one, but I'd rather we trade him to Houston for the Pelicans' pick.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.

OH ZING!!!  This guy is a real genius folks! He's here to bash your idea without discussing it. WHAT AN ADDITION! So just don't respond then.

Great, you said something negative about this guy's idea. How amazing. We are all better for it. Either discuss the idea, or don't say anything. If you really think it's a dumb idea, it's unclear why you're bumping it up the charts by responding.

Better yet, how about YOU come up with future scenarios for BOS for either of triboy's trades.

With the picks/players we'd be getting back, who would we build around?

How soon would we make the playoffs? Much less contend?

Who would want to sign here for with our expanded cap room in Summer of 2015 if either of these trades went down?

If you could give me a reasonable plan forward for this team if either of these trades went down, then perhaps YOU would be a genius.

The problem is that a number of people wouldn't come close to doing either trade. Perhaps you could provide a few more options.

The argument being made to neither trade Rondo nor let him walk is that we'll be further away from contention.

Rondo does not have much time left to prove he is worthy of us matching the near-max/max offers he will receive this summer from other teams like the Lakers.

How far away from contention will we be if we tie up cap space heading into two crucial summers by overpaying Rondo?

So I guess the hypothetical is that it is the trade deadline and these two trades are on the table. Not trading would always be an option but not the automatic assumption the we can sign Rondo at a fair contract.

I would rather trade with Sac as I have more faith in them being bad than the Phil and Carmelo led Knicks. I think if we could get that much for Rondo, it would be great. I prefer McLemore though and would be willing to do something with the picks to even out the value if necessary to get McLemore in the deal.

what if Rondo does not resign?

Rondo has brought in himself a total of zero big name big agents to the team.  You think this trend is going to change anytime soon?

The options are a false choice.
