I want Melo here. I don't know how you can say hes terrible, overrated, bum, and a loser.

Didn't Pierce once demand a trade? Why do people feign disgust at Melo? Before you say Melo has had more better teams, I disagree... JR Smith and an aging ball dominant AI isn't by means a good fit at all...

Bring Melo here, bring in Asik or Sanders, and see what others trrades can be made...

Quote
The bad news ... if he doesn't, the clock is ticking on the Paul Pierce time bomb. His agent, Jeff Schwartz, told me that Pierce would love to play with KG and is still hoping that the Celtics find a way to bring in a star. However, if he can't, Schwartz said he thinks Paul will ask for a trade from Danny Ainge, the Celtics executive director of basketball operations.

"Danny's got to make a decision," Schwartz said. "It just won't make sense to keep Paul if the Celtics can't compete for a championship. They should trade him and get young players that can help them rebuild."

Rondo needs to do this, so Ainge can make a decision now instead of keeping us guessing.

Rondo/Melo looks 4x better on paper... I prefer Melo over Love, and people say Melo will fade away after 30... Ummm, even if he does sit out this year from knee surgery, Melo's game isnt based on athleticism or outsmarting players like Pierce/Dirk. He relies on quick isos, and being able to take players off the dribble with quick pull ups/catch and shoots.

I see Melo on the trade block, because Gasol isn't leaving, and neither is Hibbert/LMA. You think Brook Lopez will make the Knicks a contender?...

ok...I'll play.
i don't understand how anyone can say Melo's terrible. The guy is a proven basketball talent. He's in his prime or close to it right now. He scores in many many different ways, he rebounds well when he wants to, he defend well, when he wants to, he even passes well...when he wants to!

Are you seeing a pattern here?

OK, I'm up for it!

The Knicks are bad but it's because of the rest of the team, not Melo and Rondo would be able to regulate his shot selection.  I think he'd fit in really good here and the Knicks need to rebuild.

As bad as we are, like 2/3rds of the Knicks roster would be deep on our bench.

Green > JR Smith, Shumpert
Bradley > Tim Hardaway
Rondo & Smart are both > Jose Calderon, Shane Larkin, Prigioni
Zeller > Dalembert = Cole Aldrich

Melo > Sully > KO > Amar'e > Cleanthony > Louis Labeyrie

Am I being a homer or is that super accurate?  We could play Anthony as a 3 or a 4 and be good, basically see what we get for Sully or Green and then take the better offer and plug in Carmelo respectively

+1.....good analysis.... Agree with it all except Bradley over Hardaway..... Hardaway plays with fire too, can shot the three and takes the ball to the hole better as well as having the physical tools (length, quickness,,etc) to become a great defender

If we were able to trade Green, Wallace, and the Brooklyn firsts for Melo and were able get Sanders and Asik for a first round pick, Bass, and Faverani.  Our rotation would like like this

1 Rondo, Smart, Pressey
2 Bradley, Turner, Smart
3 Melo, Turner
4 Sully, KO
5 Asik/Sanders, Zeller

How competitive can this team be?  I think we'd have a chance to win the East, but probably not good enough to beat whoever comes out of the West.

.

Jackson would at least want KO, Bradley and Smart. This is why I always thought bringing in Melo would help us in picking up FA vets. Pierce could also come back next year, and Garnett too. In short minutes they are all excellent bringing veteran leadership, wouldn't mind Perkins on a low MLE deal either.

I like Melo ....he is an interesting character .  Just don't think he fits into DA s vision of a Celtic team with lots of unselfish play , energy and ball movement . And hard nose defense .

These are not his strong points , as DA sees a team .

Melo would make a great laker addition.

You still need a go to scorer. Melo reminds me of a more uptempo and iso type of player that can avg 21 PPG, 6.1RPG, and 3.5 APG in CBS system

No way Phil Jackson will help us..we be the last team he would talk to
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

We got picks. We got young players, and assets. Sometimes, you gotta make sacrifices to get what you want, even if you gotta swallow some pride.

Then I think our team starts to look a little thin.  Realistically, I don't see a trade happening unless Phil wants to dump Anthony and wants to start over with cap space and draft picks.  He's not going to get a young star for him.

I would love to see Melo on the Lakers.  He and Kobe would kill each other and it would be entertaining.

Two things.
You are seriously overrating the celtics roster. (Actually this one for Quetzalcoatl)
Melo is not going anywhere.

TP.

Melo reminds me of Pierce in a number of ways pre-Garnett.

Plays through injuries, puts the team on his back offensively, etc.

He'll never get love until he wins a ring, just like Pierce.

Draft: 8 first rounders in next 5 years.

Cap space: $24 mil.
