You can see the full explanation via the ESPN Trade Machine:

Just find Avery Bradley on the Celtics roster and roll over his name. It's somewhat complicated to explain, and copy-paste doesn't work.

Free agents who satisfy the following criteria can't be traded until January 15:

* They re-signed with their former team;
* They were signed with "Bird" rights or "Early Bird" rights and the player makes more than the minimum;
* The team is over the cap;
* The player received 120%+ of his previous salary in his new contract

Avery meets all of those criteria.

Thanks Roy!!  I was trying to include AB in a trade to try to get Carmello and was wondering.  BTW, what do you think about the Hornets shooting 29 FT attempts to our 10 last night when we took about 28 shot attempts in the extended lane area to around 26 for the Hornets?  How about all the traveling calls on us in this game and 1 or none on the Hornets???  I was there and it was bad in person, but I didn't realize how one-sided until I got home and could crunch and digest the real numbers.
