Yeah ....I don't see NY trading Melo , unless it's for like top 2 Lottery pick deal .....somehow ..WIeRD maybe LA gets  top three draft pick and decides to trade it for a star ....in some deal......I look for LA to do such a thing too..their fan base is super impatient .....Kobe is still there ..not sure they can rebuild and keep a happy ship.

Superstars are hard to land and you usually need that type of talent to get other stars and win titles.

3 team idea w/ Denver and NYK where we get Melo:

NYK get:  Faried, Jeff Green, Olynyk & Afflalo
In one fell swoop they revamp their starting 5 with triangle friendly wings & get younger up front.   

Denver gets:  Bass, Bargnani & Shumpert
Not impressed?  Consider they all are expiring, opening up $21M for next summer.  That could be a nice path to re-tool for the cost of Faried (whom they don't like) and Afflolo (who isn't fitting in). 

Celts pair Melo & Rondo while keeping Smart & Sully; move into win now mode.  We'd likely need another big still, but I'd really like a Rondo, Smart, Melo, Sully, Zeller starting 5.

If we could work out a deal with the Knicks getting us 'Melo, and with the Nets getting us Lopez, while retaining Rondo, Smart,  and Sully, I'd be down with that.  We have the assets to pull that off.  If Lopez stays healthy, and Melo and Rondo click (I think they would), we'd have a team that could compete at a high level, no??

I don't understand why anyone on here would ever want Melo.  The ball just stops when he gets it, and he if he hasn't learned to play off the ball as well as on it (like Pierce) by now, I doubt that he can ever change as a player.  It's particularly hilarious to me that he can't even adapt to the triangle, where HE IS THE FOCAL POINT. 

Why are they starting Amare and him together, btw?  Anyone with half a brain knows that they can't coexist on the court.  Phil Jackson even said so a couple of years ago - they don't fit or compliment each other at all, especially on defense.

Hes one of the best clutch scorers in the league, gets superstar calls, rebounds well for his position and averages 3 assists per game as well as being an excellent shooter. His game meshes so well with Rondo as Rondo could feed him easier looks than hes ever gotten in his entire career.

I'd say do it. NY has very few picks so I believe Kozlodoev's trade is reasonable as long as there really is major problems and Melo demands to be traded.

Exactly, Melo has made the playoffs plenty of times, more than K-Love can say about himself. Teams are winners, not individual players.

Half the people on CB wanted Josh Smith, for goodness sake!  I can understand wanting Melo at least.  He's the most unstoppable scorer in the league, bar none.  Also, I've never really seen him as an alpha-dog... might just work next to Rondo.  I used to consider him a ballhog and a poor teammate, but I've softened on him.  They just don't make scorers like this.  It's a giant contract, but I think Melo's game should age OK.  He's really tough (and maybe underrated?) down low.

Carmelo Anthony is not one of my favorite players but I think I would be willing to trade for him, assuming we keep Rondo, Smart, Sullinger, and enough of the rest to have a core team.  That would leave us giving up:

Wallace, Green, Thornton, Bass, Faverani ($37M)

and we would take back

Anthony, Bargnani, and 2 or 3 Min Salary guys to keep roster balanced (about $35M)

And then we throw in 2 future first round picks, maybe clips this year and a future Brooklyn of their choice.

I don't see it likely that NYK would do this though
