Fantastic effort by our rookie tonight.  Loved his grit, his hustle, his composure.  It's a crying shame that we couldn't get the win, but man, oh man was that a great showing by Mr. Smart.

The MSmart Era has officially begun.

Resign Rondo if he wants to stay as a BUPG... and pay him accordingly.

I think we saw a glimpse of what he can be if he fixes his shot.

His shot looked pretty good tonight.

I don't remember the last time I saw a twenty year old rookie who can play defense like this from the guard position.

Maybe not since a young point guard out of Kentucky played for the Celtics during the '06-'07 season.

If he can shoot better than 35% from 3, he's going to be a star in this league.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
So why can't Rondo and Smart back court exist?  ::)

I think it can.

I felt off the bat after we signed/drafted Smart, that AB was going to be traded. 7-8 million for AB isn't that bad, at least hes proving more successful than Stephenson, who is just god awful this year.

Smart can guard strong 1's or 2's, and with improved jumper of at least 33-35% 3pt, would be a huge threat, because not many 2's can keep up with his strength or speed especially both in transition.

Always saw Smart as a Wade lite. Great defender, decent passer, and good scorer. (Coming out of college.)

Trade Rondo while we can still get something for him.

I think this sums it up pretty well.

His defense and intensity was fantastic. His offense is streaky as hell and C's were lucky he was on a hot spell when he was because some of those shots he was taking were absolute garbage. The types of shots that shoot you out of games.

The thing is in 3 of the 4 games he has been in during crunch time, he has hit those shots to keep the Celtics in games. At this point I'm happy he wants to take the shot, compared to Rondo who doesn't want to even dribble near the paint at the end of the game.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I'd like to see him more things on offense than be so reliant on taking three pointers. Especially those ugly low percentage hail mary three pointers he is so fond of. Drive the ball more. Get to the rim, get to the FT line. Drive and kick, get your teammates some open looks. He doesn't do those things nearly enough. Too many 3s. Too many bad 3s.

Smart got lucky he made so many low quality shot attempts last night. That is not sustainable.

I would like see how the team does with Smart as the starting point guard.
