the way this team always gets destroyed in the 4th is totally on him. How many times must this happen before he does something different, or get these team to hold the lead in the 4th.

I'd say the fact the C's don't have a 'closer' who they can rely on to get their own shot at the end of the game is something the coach has no control over. That is a talent issue.

NBA games invariably tighten up in the 4th, teams typically lock in on defense more, and in the half court you need a go-to scorer.

Then change it up,,,,your reason sounds like an excuse especially when the other team is scoring 30+

if you dont got a go to scorer then play some [dang] defense, tell them to slow it down....if they lost at least we know hes trying to do something different.

But no its the same thing. Its expected now.

Stevens seems pretty passive.

Butler hits three after three and no adjustment is made.

Rondo continues to suck in the fourth quarter and no adjustment is made.

Thank God, Stevens at least is starting Zeller. That's the reason we are winning now.

I still say it's lack of talent. They overachieve for 3 quarters by pushing the pace and then run out of gas and talent wins out.

The problem is simple...the offense works great when they run.  4th quarter NBA basketball is not about running, no matter what talent you have.

They can't run the same offense in the 4th quarter.  This equals different results, and in our case worse results.

Just really really dumb

Its ridiculous. Im sure any other coach in the entire league would not allow this type of stuff to happen.
I understand the frustration, but as C's fans this is not the way to express ourselves. Come on.

i don't think rondo is back yet-on his blocked layup that would not have happened before injury, he just seems not to trust getting up there or is just not as explosive--zeller missed a couple that he was making on good passes-smart will make a difference when he gets fully back and zeller will also help closing out games----bad coach .thornton bass-hey we beat the wizards---------young had another good game for re claws and powell 25pts and double digit rebounds along with blocked shots and steals---

It seems like most fans have a problem with their coach's substitutions (except for pop, but he's not human)

Not that Stevens is perfect

I mean, Chicago fans hate that thibs runs his players into the ground

When we have a solid roster then I'll make my judgements

I love what Stevens is doing

I guess the "he sucks", "he's an idiot" comments repesent people's right to an opinion, but I just doubt CBS is a dumb coach.   When I start to doubt coaches decisions, I usually rest on the assumption that the coach knows his players (skills, current health, fatigue, combinations,...) a lot better than I do.  Of course in a game like NBA basketball, especially when you have a team that is likely to be putting less talent on the floor than your opponent, anything can happen -- even when you put the right guys out there in the right situations.

I don't really know if Stevens' is a dumb coach or a smart one, but my guess is that he's pretty smart and will make the correct (higher percentage) decisions most of time.   One thing I am sure of, he's a much smarter coach than I'd be.

What's the deal with this guy?
The crazy thing is he now has another genius working as his assistant.
Watching him and Messina discussing during the games gives me WWII flashbacks.
'See that 3pt shooter over there? I want him dead by the end of the third quarter.'

Since we are on it, what do you think of Brett Brown?
He worked in SAS for 15 years, many ppl don't trust him much, but I say if Pop liked him he has to be good  ;D

The coach in Atlanta looks like was the better steal from SAS for the hawks vs Brown for the 76ers

Just bc your an assistant from the SAS does not mean you will be a good head coach.

I think in time when they aren't blatantly tanking, he'll be seen as a good coach

But his organization doesn't even want the team to win yet

Gots to trust the pop

Well, another Brown - Mike Brown - was also an assistant coach under Pop.  I wouldn't call him a good coach - quite the opposite in fact.

Gotta wait until Brett Brown actually has talent on his roster before judgement can be passed.  Edit: Same should be said of Stevens.  I'm waiting to see how he'll do with a more balanced roster containing highly talented players.

functionally it was.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
