  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Stats are slightly up.  So far he's been consistent.  Good for trade value.

Yuppp.

I would extend Green based on current play.

Not much more per year, but extend the years depending

:o  Really?  Wow.  I'd rather trade him to the Grizzlies for Tayshaun Prince, who has an expiring contract, and a first round pick.  He just doesn't fit on this team, and if we gave him a new deal, my guess is that he'll instantly go back to being the biggest source of frustration for everyone, lol.  He'd thrive in Memphis, though.

I will say he looks stronger in the arms and shoulders.  Maybe being further removed from heart surgery and extra concentration keeping his body in shape is helping his overall play.

I think he's getting more looks this year as his teammates are trying to get him the ball in good situations more often. Having Rondo here from day 1 makes a huge difference.

the contract is always a factor but I think that's a side factor. he's likely more comfortable with the Stevens concepts, benefiting from playing with a better cast of characters, mentally and physically healthier than he has been in past years.

I like him as a player and Celtic and hope we negotiate an extension in the neighborhood of 4 years, $50M.

I think the NEW ...topic and I agree ....is HOW bad OKC screwed up letting Harden and Green go .

If they had paid to keep all their star rookies  ....cap or not .....they would be winning titles.

Right now .....I don't see them winning a title .......I see Durrant leaving .....and that's the END my friend for OKC......goodbye title hope

They did mess up. Even just getting value back for green and harden.

I think Durant will leave too

I mean, he keeps dodging the question of going to d.c.

He'd be a smart man to go there. Easier path. AND us fans would get to see him and Lebron in the conference finals every year till we return
I trust Danny Ainge

He is getting paid this summer. Possibly even max money.

There are so few quality SFs right now, Green is probably a top 10 (maybe even top 5 at a stretch) player in his position. There are a lot of teams out there desperate for help at SF and somebody is handing him a big contract.

Great words from a great man

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Like others, I would also like to keep Green, but [obviously] not at the max. While the SF position is a little shallow, it's not like Green is soooo much better than the next tier after him (like those that are above him are - Lebron, Durant, George).

The thing that is great about him is his fit on almost any team - on bad teams, he can take on bigger load of the scoring, while on great teams, he can slot in as a 3/4th guy or even a super-sixth man. His efficiency really doesn't change much either way. He really is a guy that most teams would like to have, which is why there is reportedly considerable interest in him.

I hope Green's not playing better because of his contract. he doesn't seem like a Mark Blount, plus a guy with the heart condition he had you'd think he'd value every game he gets to play.

I took a brief look over at basketball-reference.....bear in mind this current season is still young.

Monthly splits from Nov - Dec (only 5 games so far)

Jeff's shoot % is on a tear upward - (FG%/3P%/FT%): .436 up .494 / .246 to .458 / .843 to .889 [FTA 3.9 up to 7.2]

So what gives?

Green's monthly USG rating has also increased from last month's 23.3 to 29.8.

Green's minutes have stayed fairly even 34.0 mpg to 34.8 mpg.

Green's scoring has also jumped from 17.7ppg to 25.8 ppg.

Green still could rebound a bit more, but that be nitpicking and only would help my fantasy team more LOL!

*As a team, we've increased our rebounding per game from 43 per game to 48 per game. Our opponents 43 to 45. So that's a net increase of +3 rebounding margin per game in our favor, this month compared to last month....if my math is correct.

The main point is if Jeff can continue this pace for the rest of this month. If this month was a fluke, he won't be able to duplicate this month's statistical production in January or February ect. etc.

Like him as a player and a good guy.  Seems like his inconsistent play has gone away, or as i put it last year it seems like his shots per game are more even (rondo factor)
