bradley is a very good outside shooter. he can create his own shot decently well, though he does have trouble creating shots for others. he also is one of the only players on our team who plays any defense. in short, he's starting because he's one of our very best players.

How about Smart, Turner, Green, Sullinger, and Zeller.

Trade Rondo for a big.

Bradley looked great against the Hawks. He's inconsistent, a la Green. Agree with others that he is our best option at the moment. Thornton scares me every time he starts into a move to create his own shot. Took some wild ones towards the end of that Hawks game.

How nice would it be if Green was consistent? I don't think I'll ever be able to accept the fact that his personality limits his productivity. He's so dang good when he's engaged. It's a shame.

As for Rondo... I'm one of his biggest fans... but he looked awful that game. 18 assists with 7 TOs and 2 points boggles me. Not sure what's going on... my hypothesis is that he's a great player on a great team... but man, I didn't expect to see him playing at the level I saw during that Hawks game.

(aside: I'm in GA, so I can't see most games... just box scores. Hopefully he has been looking better, in general).

You seriously think Turner is better than Bradley?

Turner might be a better shooting guard than Bradley.
The problem is the Celtics are trying to play Turner at PG.
He's not a PG.

Bc when he is on , he is good.   Good defender.

I'm ok with him starting and then riding the bench if he has an off game. Like he did tonight

Isn't a good defender suppossed to help the team be a good defense?

Garnett was a very good defender , and it showed

Bradley is a good defender, and we are terrible

This means that Stephens either does not care , or he plays the players that don't need to be on the court for long times in the game.

I must admit, I am starting to get some doubts about Steven's defensive game plan.

Offensively I like his mentality to a degree - I'm still not 100% sold on the "chuck up a billion threes" philosophy, but hey we are scoring more than we have in years (despite having a pretty poor offensive roster) so maybe he's on to something.

Defensively though, we actually have a pretty decent defensive roster aside from the center spot, and we have been horrible.

A team with Rondo, AB, Smart, Green, Bass and Zeller just should not be this bad defensively...

He's not a PG.

Turner is a better player as long as you can reprogram him so that all he ever does is:
1. Pass the ball
2. Shoot midrange jumpers

If you ask him to do anything else he gets excited, pretends to be a globetrotter, then bounces the ball off his foot.

I've gotta be honest...Turner's decision making with the ball is so bad that I think I actually prefer to have Bradley at PG... :o

The problem is every time I completely lose faith in turner and prepare to throw a virtual rotten tomato at him, he goes and does a whole bunch of good things and brings us back in the game.

The problem with this Celtics team is that describes basically everybody on the team.  They are either wowing you with their explosiveness, or they are making you cry with air balls, stupid turnovers and moments of standing around like they are completely lost.  Which I guess is how you expect a young, inexperienced team to play.  There is just no consistency at all outside of maybe Sullinger and Bass.

It's scary to think that our third most consistent player this season has probably been Green  :o :o :o

Seriously, so many preached AB was young and improving, I said he's as good as he's ever going to get and look at his season so far and tell me where you can see noticeable improvement? He's the exact same player.
You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

I feel the same way about Evan Turner as Cleveland Brown does about Skeet Ulrich.

I would say in one year good probability.  If bradley was still playing that top level defense you can argue that he can hit outside shots and play good defense.  His defense has not approached previous years, looks pretty much like last years less energy on d to save it for offense.  BUT he doesn't do much else now besides shoot, so if he isn't hot he doesn't add much more to the game.  A future 3 and d bench guy.

It can't happen soon enough for me .  I cringe everytime AB touches the ball .....he and Bass are turnover machines handling the ball.

Unless AB plays his old school lock down defense .   I m just not impressed .
