I watched Brad Stevens walk off the court after the loss to Atlanta.  He did not speak a word to anyone and the expression on his face looked like someone had ripped his heart out with their bare hands. this guy doesn't have much more left in the tank.

yesterday's loss may have been the one most disheartening losses I have ever seen and if Ainge doesn't step up now and upgrade this team he is just liable to lose everything.
how do you explain complete domination in the first two quarters and utter failure for the rest of the game.  how do you explain Rondo making just enough turnovers and missed layups to give Atlanta this game!!!

Ainge isn't going to make any knee jerk reactions because the team lost an early December game in excruciating fashion.

This season is part of a continued rebuilding phase that is extending over multiple seasons.  I don't think the organization is going to out and screw up anything as a reaction to a single bad loss in fear of "losing everything".

Panic mode should be left to the fans, not the organization.

If that's the most disheartening loss you've ever seen, buckle up.  This team is practically hand-made for tough, close losses.

Take a deep breath, relax, find your happy place.  We already have 4 other over-reaction threads from last night's game.  Do we really need another?

Adding backup point guards when your team's best player is a point guard isn't a master plan for turning around a 25 win team.

Nobody should be surprised this still team stinks.  Adding a little bench depth to a bad team with a bad starting lineup doesn't typically move the needle.

I was going to go with "you must be a new fan". I'm still bummed about some of the playoff losses we've seen since 2008.

The game 7 loss after Perk got hurt was painful.  I was going down that same path.

It usually isn't pleasant when wunderkinds discover the limits of their abilities.

Game 7 2010 is the worst loss I've suffered as a sports fan cheering for a team, I think.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

You have no one but yourself to blame for that, mate.

(my team plays in league two, though, so I'm not one to talk)

Yup.

It was like armageddon slowly developed before our very eyes in the final 6 minutes of the game.

Yes it does. We could be 76ers fans, and Brad Stevens could have Brett Brown's job.

Not only that, but if you look at the standings, there are at least 5 teams worse than us right now: Charlotte, New York, Detroit, Philly and Minnesota.

So imagine one of these scenarios:

1.) We are Charlotte fans and just watched our team overacheive and do respectably in the playoffs, then added Lance will make 'em Dance and then end up worse than the Celtics!  Can you imagine rooting for them right now?

or conversely, this:

2.) We are New Orleans and we have the best player in the NBA, but our cap is so caught up with impulsive, long term deals to placate our fans that we're not competitive in the West, and not only that, we traded our 2015 pick to Houston for Asik which will likely be in the lottery!  They have everything to play for and they're two places out of the playoffs right now by current standings.

We instead have tons of cap room at the end of this season, with a bunch of promising guys on team friendly deals and 2 first rounders per season for the next 4 years.  People need to realize that we were supposed to suck this year.  Letting Wallace expire before we did anything has been the plan all along.  Just enjoy how good we'll be in a few years.
