I honestly don't care which way we go.

We could trade everyone not named Smart, Sully, or Young for future assets and tank for Towns.

We could try and build on what we already have and try to improve our roster and interior D to sneak into the playoffs.

I'd be fine with either one, but I'm not fine with what we're currently doing. At this rate, we'll win a couple of games and end up in the mid to late lottery. I'm not saying go full rebuild or make trades just to make trades, but we need a definitive direction. Either blow it up and go with the full rebuild, or do what you can to fix the mismatched roster and get us some defensive help. It's painful watching this team give up everything in the end, and it's not doing our future any good.

I wonder if Rondo ever says to Pierce (on the phone or whatever), "so this is what you were talking about."

I mean, Rondo is as responsible as everyone else on the team, but you know it's got to be incredibly frustrating to him. There's no way we keep him at a decent price if it stays like this throughout the year.

Rondo is a major problem. He is useless in the 4th quarter because he can not shoot and can not drive because he can not shoot free throws. They had Kyle Korver guard him in the 4th tonight. Think about that. Arguably the worst defensive player in the league was put on our starting point guard. Rondo has to go.

Korver's not even close to the worst defensive player in the league.

I feel Danny is just fishing every trip. He's fishing for home runs. He's looking to load the bases.

Fishing for a Tyler-Zeller-incredible-value move. Fishing for a KG trade.

Maybe this stalemate right now is good for us. We have so many picks.

Or he might be waiting too long.

Apologies if I've insulted baseball fans...haven't watched one game of baseball myself.

I don't know. I'm just tired of the mediocre, mismatched roster. I think in alot of ways we are greatly exceeding our skill level, and we come back down to our true level in the fourth.

That's about the size of it.

Last quarter exposes the lack of natural talent .   Wining talent .   Our average players can't compete , when the crunch time comes .....they get out talented,

Well at least Sullinger has been steadily improving.

Nothing is going to change right now. How would it?

If we can't get a superstar in the draft or get a break for a superstar in a trade, our best case is treading mediocrity like Atlanta has. Learn to live with it. There are 30 teams in the league. They can't all win.

They can't all win, but they can build towards something better. This warped rebuild we're doing is frustrating. There just seems to be no point in this roster, and I'd much rather tear down all the way than tread water like Atlanta has been doing forever.

I agree completely. The good passing and running is great for catching a better team on its heels. That doesn't last for 4 quarters. Eventually the other team starts giving full effort on every defensive possession. That is when you need better players. You can pass like the Spurs for 3 quarters, but at the end of the game, you need Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili breaking down defenses.

Add to that our bigger problem -- bad defense.

But better is still all relative. We are only 'better' if we are beating other teams. That means some of the other teams need to get worse.

There really isn't much left to tear down. We are pretty torn down already, yet you aren't satisfied. Perhaps is it because you mistakenly thought that there was an approach that guarantees results. There isn't.

We still have our draft picks. Those are a major part of coming back from our tear down (that already happened). It just takes time. Hopefully, Brooklyn falls off a cliff in 2016. Philly is clearly intent on ensuring we don't get their 1st rounder (but at least we get the 31st pick). We also get a late first this year from the Clips, which is probably low 20s due to the competitive West.

We are one of multiple bad teams trying to build a team for the future. Considering that apart from our competition at the bottom, there are also already multiple teams with championship level talent in their primes, I think people need to temper their expectations.
