All these anti-Bradley threads make me wonder why Danny gave him that 4 year deal...

It might just be me, but in watching AB now for 5 years or however long its been (seems like an eternity at times) he absolutely, IMO, has one of the lowest basketball IQs I've seen of a player in the NBA. That idiotic pass attempt in the final minute that Bledsoe stole is a prime example.

Can't disagree with this. Even on defense, he is greatly overrated. He is a good lock-down defender, but once another element (e.g. a pick) is introduced, he always seems to guess wrong. He's not that good of an off-ball defender either.

However, I am not sold on Marcus Smart starting over him just yet.

I dislike Turner even more. I see from the box score tonight that Turner seems to have had a good game. And he can create his own shot. But from watching him in college, I never expected he would be so turnover-prone in the NBA. He's as sloppy as Bradley and Bass are dumb. FWIW, I actually don't think Bradley has a very low bball IQ. I just think he's offensively inept, and that's where the mistakes start to pile up. May be more of an issue re: lack of experience, skill, and desire to be what we're asking him to be. Can't argue that, for what he's giving us though, he is overpaid (and I'm generally a supporter... think he could be a 6th/7th man on a 'chip team).

AB should be a 6th man. This team lacks talent so he starts.  I got no issues with AB at 8 million per as a six man player under soon to come cap #s. Blame the current roster state that requires him to get so many shots or be the go to guy late. AB haters have to get real. AB isn't the problem on this team.

Turning 24 late this month.

These coming few years are make or break.

Frustrating to watch him botch such a simple play, but not going to crucify him yet.

Even if he doesn't improve one bit, he's still a fantastic asset.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Over reaction much?
He shot 50%+ and hit 2/3 from three. Had to guard Dragic, Bledsoe and isiah Thomas all game too.
Not sure what you're expecting for $8 million a year?

He screwed up with the pass but the suns ice/hedge was very good -they made us pass to Bradley and then pressured him in a play where he wasn't supposed to have the ball and he panicked.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I thought he played the first half and kind of vanished down the stretch last night.

I actually was impressed with Bradley last night...well the 1st half, that play over the pick that Bledsoe scored on was great effort(looked like old Bradley), I hadn't seen that kind of D from him in some time. then there was that pull up jumper that he hit once...

I'm not going to hate on AB for the simple reason he has put in the effort to get better every year and it shows. Yes he is one dimensional and maybe the only SG I can think of that can't dribble or pass the ball. As I've said before everyone thinks we need a BIG and we are good to go but I disagree. A starting high quality SG would be huge on this team right now, AB as others have said is a back up. He should never be out there to close out a game on a playoff team.

Yup.

Once again, I don't blame Bradley.

He's doing all he can.

He's a decent player, but I am not sure he should be the starting shooting guard.

Again, I pin the blame on Ainge.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
We need an all-star caliber center and an all-star caliber shot creator. If we had those two things, the players / problems that so many CBers complain of would go away.

No individual starter or bench player on our roster is the problem - it's the lack of top-level talent that is.

Someone who doesn't look like a complete disaster when you give him the ball and he can't shoot it right away? Is that too much to ask for?

he is good, just at the end of the game, he should not be remotely be near a basketball, he should be miles away from it!

8 million a year isn't exactly chump change.

Dont blame AB. He has to guard like two players bc rondo cant guard his man. AB exhausted. Without rondo and smart or pressey he is able to play better on the offensive end
