As suggested in the original post, NYK is the most likely destination.

I don't disagree that Gasol was unhappy with the Lakers, but that's not what you were talking about, was it?

Kind of. I stated that Paul probably wouldn't speak to highly of playing aside a late career Kobe (which by extension meant he was not very happy there). You said you didn't think so. So I took that to imply you meant you thought Paul would speaking highly of his time with the lakers and playing for them. Your response was really short though so it was hard to tell what you were saying

If this happened, it'd be like that commercial.

*Knicks* "Take that Memphis; you lost Gasol! You can't have your cake and eat it, too!"

*Spurs come in* "Guys, if we have cake, we should eat it."

*Spurs sign Gasol, are relevant for next 7 years with him, Leonard, Parker et al.*

Then, Gasol and Leonard both get hurt 5 years in, the Spurs magically get the #1 pick, draft Dikembe Olajuwon and are relevant for next 20 years.

Pau was very unhappy with the coaching there. Both Mike Brown and Mike D'Antoni.

I don't think playing with Kobe had much to do with Pau's unhappiness over final years in LA.

I seriously doubt Marc Gasol is leaving Memphis.  Just don't see it.  Memphis is essentially his adopted hometown and Gasol loves it there, can pay him the most money, and has a pretty darn good team already.

Why would he leave that type of situation?  I'm not seeing it.

Pau's had nothing but good things to say about playing with Kobe.  Of course it was challenging, but he's got two rings to show for it.  That said, he left Los Angeles because they were nowhere near contending, whereas Chicago gave him a good shot of winning another ring while still giving him the big city life he's grown accustomed to since being traded to the Lakers.

That's fair, my apologies for the brevity. The story I've always heard is that Pau left the Lakers in spite of his relationship with Kobe, not because of it.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Yeah, I'd buy that.  Pau was one of the very few players Kobe ever actually seemed to like.

Dude knew his place.  Carry the frontcourt and let Kobe take credit for everything.
