Who should take the last shot?

In theory, whoever Rondo passes it to, with the goal being to avoid the last shot being a jumper taken off the dribble, which is a horribly inefficient shot.  The best shot is probably Olynyk or Bradley in a catch-and-shoot.

I think what the Celtics lack is a secondary ball-handler who Rondo can pass it to if he doesn't have a good shot creation opportunity.  Kevin O'Connor says that Kelly Olynyk was being used as a floor spacer and wasn't a real option on the final play against the Cavs.  Maybe the Celtics should make more use of his point guard mentality in helping to decide who should take the last shot.

The greatness of Paul Pierce with the ball in his hand at the end of the game wasn't that he could score;  it was that he could give up the ball and let someone else score.

I think Turner is our best one on one offensive player at the top of the key.

But the pecking order will never allow that to happen.

LooseCannon makes some very good points about the best way to handle end-of-game situations, but if we are simply talking about who is the best option to isolate and score - that guy would be Jeff Green. He has the ability to hit the outside shot, can get to the basket, can hit his free throws if he gets fouled, and has some relative experience in these situations.

Obviously he is not Kobe, PP, Melo, etc, but if we are not using Rondo to create the best opportunity, Green seems to be the best option.

While I agree with everything you've said here, I'm going to vote for Turner to be the go-to guy, because at least he's proven that he can create and hit big shots, but I'm probably in the minority here.

Unless somebody else gets wide open, I'd say Jeff Green.  I seem to recall that he's been pretty successful in game ending situations in the past

Usually Green, but not yesterday, not with James covering him. I probably would've gone with Sullinger, who had Marion on him.

While I agree with everything you've said here, I'm going to vote for Turner to be the go-to guy, because at least he's proven that he can create and hit big shots, but I'm probably in the minority here.

At least Turner is big enough to get his shot off.

Marcus smart should be given that responsibility from his next game onwards.
He's developing the shot, and has the ability and killer instinct to get to the hole.
If he's going to become a franchise player then give him the ball now.
