Sadly, as we are showing a lot of grit and good play but then losing in the final moments of a lot of our games, we are showing that we most likely will win around 35 games this year. This is an awful place to be. If we overperform as it appears we will, winning 35 games gets us say the 10th pick in the draft. Basically a rotation player at best. (Do not start with the "Pierce was the 10th pick" garbage. That was a miracle) Getting the 10th pick does not help us. As long as they allow tanking, tanking is the way to go. The 76er's are going to leap frog over us if we are not careful.
I love watching us play and it is clear we have some pieces now. However we need to think long and hard about how this is coming together. We may stick ourselves in "Decent Team Limbo" for years.

It will be the cap space and trade assets that will be key to getting Boston out of  limbo of mediocrity rather than Celtics 2015 / 2016 draft picks.

The draft pick is not the priority. Celtics would have to sacrifice too much quality talent to get a high pick. Better off targeting FA and trades instead of draft for next stage of improvement / development.

Until we show to be a destination for FA's I will be a bit skeptical as to our ability to get one here. Additionally, Ainge is known as hard to deal with so according to reports a lot of teams will not deal with us to do his demands. (I will try to find links for that claim. I assure you I read it from a reputable sight) A great player we can get from the draft and develop is still our best chance for success.

by all indications, one or more of WCS, turner, and harrell will be available at the 10th spot. all of them project to be good players, with WCS and turner potentially being well above average defenders as centers.

yes, the 1st pick in the draft would be better than the 10th pick. but i am not ready to throw up my hands, run in circles, wail, or gnash my teeth over the celtics picking 10th.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
