It could be worse, they could be the Knicks.

We crumbled against a 2-3 zone. We can not protect the paint and our outside shooting continues to be awful. Rondo nearly gets a triple double and we get run out of our own building by a D-League team. Again, we could not attack the 2-3 zone. That is a defense a bad high school team plays. This was an embarrassing loss of the highest magnitude.

Dude, the season isn't over - relax ;D.  That said, I do think that it's pathetic that these 'professionals' get paid outrageous sums of money only to be suffocated by a middle school defense lol.  I only played basketball on a team for two years, but the only defense that was used was a zone.  At the time, we used to swing the ball around the perimeter, just standing there, but when I think about it now, we should have had guys cutting through, because the defense doesn't react until you have the ball, and when you do get it, it's like being a magnet surrounded by nails or whatever as they all converge on you.  It's actually such a violent, over-reacting defense that just throwing the right pass moves 3-4 guys, and I always liked throwing those bullet passes, haha.  All we needed to do was something like this starting at the 4:24 mark of this clip which concludes with Pierce cutting to the hoop and receiving the ball on a nice pass by Raef -

I loved this particular game.  We really sucked lol, but watching Pierce set the franchise record for consecutive games of 30+ points was well worth it.  Big Al wasn't so bad, either ;) ;D.

Rondo should scold everyone in the lockerroom after that performance.

why should Rondo be the one doing the scolding?

He played mediocre defense again.  It was good he didn't guard Jackson later in the game or we would of prob lost by 30.

For everything he does offensively ,  he does not make it properly count bc he is getting beat on the defensive end.  Outside of Jackson the man he was guarding (at times Morrow) had like 3 seconds to launch their shots.

I'm not going to blame the loss only on Rondo, but don't say he has the right to scold the others

Can we blame the game on Phil Pressey?

Bradley was guarding Jackson most of the time... But wait, he got 2 quick fouls at the beginning of the game. And hey, in the fourth quarter, he got benched for the last 4 minutes.

And are you really blame Anthony Morrow's NBA2k DNA swap on Rondo?

The sight of that little mustache in the game in the fourth quarter demoralized me so much...

Just an FYI for the people that think our offense is horrible we are 6th in the league in ppg and fg%. We got exposed by the zone, and I assume our coaching staff will adjust. That's what the league is night in night out adjusting.

The realists here, that do not live in CottonCandyLand, know that talent wins out.  We have some talent but some teams have more.   I think the quality win against the Bulls was a nice one.   We beat the Pacers Bench and lost to OKC's Bench.

I think the team is doing really well with the team we have.  It will be much worse at the end of November, I 'd wager.  Most games we will fight hard, this last one we did not.  Dallas and Toronto ones we fought hard but lost.

biggest reaction ever!

we're a bad team, and in year 2 of a rebuild...what do you expect? Suck one year, get lottery pick and be a 50 win team the next? Be realistic, it's going to be a long ride and will probably take 4-5 years before we'll even make any noise in the playoffs or a dent in the playoffs. Man if you were Seattle/OKC fan, it must suck for you before Durant was drafted and the year after because they were tanking for 2 straight years...

and THEN, a few years later if the 76ers are good, you'll be looking back at this season saying we didn't suck enough...

Danny cannot please enough people

If I was a Seattle fan I would've spent those two seasons burning effigies of Howard Schultz.

Aside from the overreactions  ;) I want to focus on the most consistent recurring offensive theme in this thread; 1)KO is our best shooter and 2) Sully needs to stop chucking from outside and get his big rearend in the paint.

If we all see this, then I know that Brad Stevens sees this.  They will not stop what they are doing until he tells them to do differently. We don't have to be on fire from outside to bust a zone...but we do have to keep the ball moving and make the defenders work from side to side and from the top of the key to the baseline.

As for the other theme, defense, it is a mindset as much as anything else.  This is why on some nights we look great and on others we look like...well...last night.  Yes, we could always use more defensive talent, but there also has to be a desire every night to play on both ends.  We don't have a KG or Perkins mindset out there right now, so there is going to be some wild inconsistency on D.

Yeah, mainly Bradley and Pressey. Rondo wasn't on him for more than a handful of possessions.

We were wiped out by the 2-3 zone. We have not shot well from outside at all. Think about it. Teams  will simply zone up and dare us to shoot. (Where has Sullinger's three-pointer gone, btw?) In addition, teams that can get to the rim will bury us. We have zero rim protection. ZERO.

For the record, our offensive efficiency for the game was pretty close to league average. We lost because our defense was pretty bad, not really because of the zone.

Does anyone realize that a zone was played for about 5 minutes total last night?
