Bradley is arguably our most consistent player. I trust him more than any one on the roster with the exception of Rondo. 8 mil does seem steep, but the guy can play. His offensive game is far from a "fluke" - he has worked hard to become a proficient shooter. Point is well taken that he doesn't fit a particular position, but I'd prefer him over a lot of other 2s in the league, given his defensive mindedness and growth (suggestive of solid effort).

I'm happy with our early start. I think the team that we have is performing well, beyond adequate. Everyone seems bought in. I'm a biased UNC fan, but think Zeller may be a solid contributor in the future. Although Stevens seems to really like Olynyk... and deservedly so. Somehow he plays far better than I have expected.

At this point, 8mil doesn't even seem like a lot. Especially when any SG worth a lick is getting the max (Hayward, Klay, and now potentially Jimmy Butler). Other than Lance Stephenson, I can't imagine there was ever a better(?) alternative to Avery, unless we wanted to play rookie carousel with Smart and Young. Keith Bogans may still be available?

Bradley is arguably our most consistent player.
In 6 games so far, Bradley has shot .530 or better three times, and .340 or worse  three times. In the process, he's had a 6-point game, and 11-point game, and a 32-point game. Same story last year, he seems really adept at having a high number of really good and really bad games.

I guess by some twisted logic this passes for consistent.

Judging by the early returns this season, both Hayward and Thompson are considerably better players than Bradley.

Small sample size, but he's averaging 15 points off 36 percent from three, which is decent.

And they got paid accordingly what's your point?

The point is that it's a bit silly to compare Bradley's to players that are considerably more talented. The better question is how much better are you with Bradley as opposed to with Evan Turner who comes at quarter to half of the cost.

Indeed they are. That's why they're paid twice as much.

I'd take Bradley over Turner and I believe his post refers to the fact that he believes that those players are overpaid.

Measuring "consistency" on a game-to-game basis is a fool's errand except for players getting high USG numbers (and thus a consistently high number of shot each game).

I wouldn't measure consistency by how many points he scores, because that is dependent on luck.  I want the guy who is consistently making good decisions on offense and defense.  I'd much rather have a player whose point totals fluctuate but who consistently takes the shots he is supposed to be taking and avoids taking the shots he is supposed to not take instead of someone who consistently scores a certain number of points because he will chuck up shots to ensure that he "gets his".

Point well-taken. Kozlodev, while I respect your opinion, I do think there's more to a player than stats based on less than a handful of games. As LooseCannon is pointing out, Bradley isn't taking ill-advised shots, he isn't shooting a poor percentage, and he appears to know his role quite well. To me, he seems to be picking up where he left off last year, and last year, I had more trust in him than any one on the roster. So, I understand your point... at the same time, I just trust in the guy. I don't see him changing his shot selection, cuts, ball movement, etc. from game to game. And honestly, I never dreamed he'd be able to drop 30 in an NBA game. Def not sustainable, but I give the guy the credit. He has made the most of what he has, in my opinion. And I do know he's going to bring it every night, regardless of whether his shots are falling or not.
