Evan Turner is a better pg than i thought

very talented player.  and right now our best option at the 1 position with both rondo and smart out.  glad we signed him to the roster.

obviously you don't want him permanently as the 1, but glad to have someone who can fill the roll adequately.  nice leadership in the win over the bulls.  pressey is a defense-first/defense-only point.  I'm glad that having Turner keeps Pressey mostly on the pine.

celtics will have some options when rondo reaches free agency.  marcus smart possibly being the guy if we can't keep rondo in beantown.  and turner is on a 2 year deal so he's a more than adequate backup point with pressey as the emergency 3rd stringer.

ET looks like a good fit as the starting pg for team. His ability to score and make baskets after receiving passes from our bigs is refreshing to see . Clutch basket over Hinrich. 

The best thing I can say about Turner as a PG is that his size makes up for one of my long-standing annoyances with this team... micro-guards playing SG.  Avery Bradley is too small to cover a lot of the SG's in the game.  Turner next to Bradley makes some sense.

Evan Turner is a bonehead, particularly under pressure situations or against smart/solid defenders.

Not sure what the point of signing him was. I don't think Danny makes too many mistakes but signing Turner was one of them.

Thabeet really should never have been picked #2, but Beasley absolutely has elite ability, he's is just a complete idiot with no motivation.  He's like a more extreme version of Turner - more physical talent but even worse mentally.  Put a decent basketball mind in Beasley's body, and you'd probably have a multiple All-Star player.

I like the praise, let's hype him up and then ship em out, does not play winning basketball, I hope many other teams think " hey, turner is pretty good at point guard and is a huge mismatch for opposing teams at the PG position lets trade assets for him!"

Turner has taken a lot of crap on this board. (deservedly after that 5 TOs in 12 minutes).

He came up big when the game was in doubt vs the Bulls. Clutch behind the back dribble and baseline shot immediately off it and then two clutch free throws.

Hope he sticks despite everybody wanting to build his value then dump him. He played within himself in Chicago. If Stevens can keep getting him to do that (Stevens in the post-game said he had a talk with him after the 5 TO game about his different role as the point as opposed to when he's off the ball), he's a bargain for the two years that we have him.

His versatility makes him a fairly unique talent.

I'm rooting hard for the kid. In Indy, he took a real bad rap. He came into a poisonous locker room and to make matters worse, he was replacing an icon whom George idolized. He fist-fought class act Lance at a playoffs practice, because Lance was being **** in practice dumping on Hibbert for a personal matter that shouldn't have been aired in public, and ET stood up for him.

While this could be the most accurate assessment of Turner-It typically takes 3 to 5 seasons for a point guard to truly be able to run a team in the NBA.  Once in a while, there is an exception.  However, the game pace in the NBA is so much faster than college basketball.  This puts alot of pressure on young players- and so there is a learning curve.
Turner is not a point guard.  However, he is capable of creating some interesting match-up problems.  The fact that he can be a score first point guard may be a great option at times for the Celtics.  I remember a young Gerald Green being bashed on this forum for making alot of mistakes.  Green also needed his brain to catch-up to his talent.
Turner is a great addition and signing.  Low risk signing-great upside.  Danny knows talent.  Its Stevens job to develop the players.

Uh huh, and how did that work out, not very good. Brooks was on fire but Pressey is just too small.

Actually,  if you watch the play that Pressey came in to cover Brooks, he did manage to pin Brooks against Zeller, taking him out of the play he wanted, forcing Brooks to take a really ugly falling-away shot over TZ -- the fact that it went in doesn't change how well Pressey defended him.  Brooks was just on fire.  But that was the first play in a long sequence where Brooks didn't get a wide open look or easy access to the basket.
