This logic just screams the need for a larger sample size. The first game where we blew out Brooklyn Rondo was the best player on the floor all night, where was this thread then.
The Problem with Rondo is that he really does work better when he has legitimate all stars to play with. I'm not talking Olynyk style high level role players but legitimate top 50 NBA caliber talent to play off of. Since we don't have anyone like that except for Jeff Green (who probably had his worst game tonight without Rondo) Rondo is forced to run super distributor mode where the defense can just suck in around him because nobody else provides a big enough threat to draw away attention.
So maybe this team, as currently constructed, might actually work better without Rondo where there really is no primary ball handler and the ball just whips around to everyone. But if we can manage to get even one other top tier talent, then Rondo will be back to a top 5 PG who can take over games with his passing, scoring and yes rebounding.
