Pure Speculation right now. We are hearing Xrays are negative, But that was bad from the pain he was under. Myself having sprained my ankle that bad at least once. I didn't take care of mine hardly at all, And it took three months and still was not 100%. But with the treatment he will get. We will see him in 8 weeks is my best guess.

I broke my ankle and needed surgery and was back in six weeks, so I hope it's faster than that

Tore ankle ligaments and was back in training within 4 weeks, game within 5... it was too early though and I felt pain in the ankle for up to 3 years afterwards (bearable pain though). If it's a sprain, even a serious one we should see him back in 3-4 weeks

Wow... Can you change the title? Seriously freaked me out for (potentially) no reason.

I sprained an ankle pretty bad but finished a local tourney (2 addition games same day). I had to cut shoe off because of swelling. Took 6 months to heal to 100% (my 100% is one step vert dunk). If Marcus did sprain his ankle badly best thing was staying down. My sprain came the same way fast break stepping on another player's foot.

Sure with NBA team staff and the fact he didn't play on he would recover in 4-6 weeks.

I got my ankles broken too.
I remember it like it was yesterday
I was playing pick up basketball with my friends at the YMCA
This guy with cornrows came up
Said he got next.
I was like. Who the eff does he think he is.
So I started guarding him.
Make him regret his decision playing me.
He crossed me up so bad.
They called it an ankle breaker.

"Surprise and relief being expressed up here at 30,000 feet that it's "just a sprain". Marcus Smart could be back before the end of November."

"Preliminary results show a sprain for Smart. Expect him to be out two weeks, maybe longer depending on how cautiously Celts proceed."

"Much of how soon Smart can get back will be determined by swelling in the ankle over the next day or two."

I hope he heals 100% and they don't rush him back.  This injury probably assures us getting a lottery pick next year.

Years ago I stepped on someone's foot and ended up tearing my ACL.  Bye, bye basketball playing.  Never had it fixed...just repaired the torn meniscus.
