I would not trade an empty banana peel for Kanter, no thanks.

Your dislike of foreign players is so obvious.

True, and FIBA did not change my mind, but right now Green is a better player than Kanter.  Sanders is the most intruiging of the three mentioned.   We'd have a C but lose a lot of our offensive output.

I like Dirk, Nash, Drago, Ibaka and quite a few ones back in he 90s and late 80s like Detlef but I do not like the guys who stink.  Kanter fails in the stink crowd.  That being said there are plenty of American players who stink as well.

I think Ainge shares this opinion with me,  did he ever draft a foriegn player besides KO or resign one?   He traded for Jiri Welsh and that would be enough to sway anyone against.   Petrius he traded for and I liked him but he let him go.  KO at least played college ball in USA.

What about RC Buford? Does he share that "no foreign player" mentality? How has that worked out for them?

I have grown fond of Green over the years.  I think he gets beat up due to unrealistic expectations more than any real problem with his game.  I suspect that he is going to continue to play at his current pretty darn good but not super star level and that there will be teams that come asking about him later in the season.  Teams that are contending but maybe lose a key player to injury.  Not sure what I would want back for him though.

The risk of course, much like with Rondo, is that if we don't trade him and someone offers him silly money, we are stuck between the rock and hard place of over paying or losing him for nothing.  For some reason I feel like there is a better chance that we can sign Green for fair money than Rondo and that affects my willingness to trade him.  I of course have nothing to base that feeling on so who knows.

If we do trade him, I think you do because you want to get something for him before FA, not because you are afraid his game is going to suddenly crash.

Green for McGee
Green and pick for Kanter
Green and KO for Sanders

Hurry before he changes back into an every other game player!
2 things.

first, 4 games is not going to change anyone's opinion of Jeff green.  he's still worth what GMs thought he was worth at the end of last year.

second, each of those proposals is an overpayment by the C's.  Green alone is a much better player than Mcgee and Kanter (even combined).  Green + KO for Sanders is a little high.

Trading Green now leaves us with Turner as our starting SF -- huge downgrade.  Wallace becomes our primary backup and Young for our 3rd string.  SF goes from a position of decent play to very subpar quickly.   Only Sanders offers an immediate known upgrade at Center but how much does that improve us as a team if we're losing our starting SF and our backup PF/C

This didn't paste properly but Kantor was enrolled at Kentucky as a freshman but ruled ineligible and never played a game.  After his sort of red shirt freshman year, he declared and was drafted.  So he in fact never played in college in USA.  Not sure if he practiced with the team or not but he never played in a game.

I basically agree with everything you said.  I just like Jeff on our team.  I dunno what he would realistically bring back in a trade,  probably totally depends on the situation.  Unfortunately if we did trade him I don't know who realistically would be picking up the scoring slack, hopefully the player we traded for.

For those wanting Green or Bradley gone....There's a darn good reason Ainge paid these two.  He likes them, and their both worth far more to Ainge than most others.

Ainge even paid Green after the heart fiasco.  That should tell you guys something right there.  Like Rondo, you'll have to overpay if you want Green.

Jeff Green is perfectly capable of being the third best player on a championship team something like a Mark Aguire on the Bad Boy Pistons. Rajon Rondo could absolutely be the best player, not unlike an Isiah Thomas.

If Avery can somehow morph into Dumars, then what we really need is a tough rim protector like Laimbeer (Asik?) and an athletic freak wild card type like Rodman(and to think we could've had Antetokumpo). The pieces have been out there recently, we just need a bit of luck and we're right back there in the playoffs.

Whatever your smoking, send me some please..
