Whether or not he is a center is the wrong question.

The question to ask is, why is our best outside shooter, percentage wise, who happens to be 7 feet tall, not taking more shots?  I feel like it is a combination of (I) he lacks assertiveness,  (II) his team-mates, most of whom are inferior shooters, taking shots that they should not be taking, and (III) foul-trouble, which is killing his minutes.

Stevens needs to get a little angry with him, and tell him he is hurting the team (therefore, being selfish) by not asserting himself on offense better.

He could be a 20 ppg scorer easily.  Just don't know if he has got the heart.

The real question is why didn't Kelly O go as Candy O for halloween?

Because only the "Mari O" costume came in his size?

NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

I agree - one of Olynyk's biggest problems is assertiveness/tentativeness.  He's passed up or hesitated on a lot of makeable shots so far.  However, he started last season with even worse problems along those lines and improved sharply as the year went on, so I'm hoping this season will play out as a better version of that.

The less Kelly tries to do offensively the more his defensive issues damage the team.  Defense still can and should improve, but in the short term more offensive aggression is the best remedy.

That's assuming that the shots will fall at the same rate if the defense is paying more attention to him and they're semi-contested.

He has tools to play high post center just fine on offense, on defense that is another story.

Agreed. You can get away with someone like Olynyk at the 5 if you're fortunate enough to have an Ibaka type at the Power Forward spot.

Agreed.

Sully the same.

After this season we will find out which one of sully or ko will start for next season with player X.  Shotblocker that can rebound and can shoot (ibaka) would be perfect. But if not at least a player that can play above the rim, athletic, quick and has a decent iq

Through the draft
Harrell, Wcs (if we miss out towns, okafor)

At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

You are right, he's not a center which is why they need to trade Sully for a real center and move him to power forward.  Although, in reality, Sully plays Center and Kelly plays PF.   Sully usually defends the big post player while Kelly chases the smaller big around the perimeter and Kelly hardly ever steps inside the thee point line on offense, playing like a stretch 4.
In what world is KO better then Sullinger or has more upside? It's not even close. Why would you trade Sully over KO?

KO is a nice player. That's about it. He can hit the 3 and spread the court. He's got decent passing ability. He's ok with his handle. Has good floor spacing. But he's a terrible defender. Overall he's a decent floor spacer who plays bad defense.
