SI.com: Looking back, what was last season in Brooklyn like?

Pierce: "It was a rollercoaster, definitely. A lot of emotion went into it. Going through what we went through last year, I had a lot of thoughts like, ‘Shoot, I could have just stayed in Boston.’ They were going through some of the same things we were going through in Brooklyn. The key was to stay positive. Times change, you have to move on and that is what I eventually did."

Quote
SI.com: Think you will ever go back to Boston?

Pierce: "Definitely. Maybe as a player, maybe as a coach, maybe upstairs [in the front office]. I follow what they are doing. I went back to Boston twice this summer, went to their practice facility. I keep up with them."

I'm actually hoping he gets into Media. He used to fill in sometimes with Gary on Sports Tonight, and he was great.  I remember one exchange where Gary asked him what he saw himself doing after he retired and he smiled and said "your Job"

I'd love to see him take over for Max on the radio if Max moves on to TV, or even the TV gig once Tommy really retires.  Although I am loving me some scal.

Maybe a three man booth, Mike, Paul, and Scal.

Love it. Bring back Pierce in any way shape or form.

Yeah, Pierce was always an underrated interview.  I think he'd do well with Scal.

It'd be nice to have him back as a Bass/Wallace replacement next year.

Yes. It's a safe bet he's going to sign some kind of ceremonial contract with us, and I'd love to see him remain with the organization in any capacity past that. Luckily the Celtics seem to be one of the most franchise history-centric teams in the league, so that shouldn't be too much of a wish.

For some reason, I can see Pierce as potential front office material. Maybe not as the sole authority for basketball decisions, but as the/a main guy.

I would love to at least see PP sign a 10 day contract someday so his last game could be in green. I miss him and KG. I'd like to see KG wear green one more time too. It's hard letting those guys go.

I don't understand that part. He was traded.

KG would not have waived his NTC to play in Brooklyn without Pierce.

I love Pierce, but I never really got this vibe from him.  I can't see him as a coach or front office material.   I'd be worried he'd be more of Michael Jordan type GM, very short on analysis, and heavy on gut feelings and instincts.  "Hey, I know the game, trust me about this one."

His personality reminds me more of Barkley or Shaq (neither of whom I'd want as a GM or coach).  He'd be perfect on Inside the NBA, but not as a coach or GM.

That's the way I read him at least.

Both Pierce and KG have earned enough money by now. And really, that's why they were traded because of high salaries, respective to their ages.

They can both get bought out by their current contracts and joined the Celts for Vet's minimum. And now that Rivers isn't coach, Stevens can actually play 'em off the bench, 5-10 mins per game max when the game slows down, and it's a half-court style of play. During run 'n gun plays, they sit, as older players are less effective in those scenarios.

It wouldn't be right if he doesn't retire in Green.
