.@smart_MS3 and Avery Bradley showing off the new @adidasHoops #Celtics uniforms!!!! #adidas
Replace the words 'showing off' with 'forced to wear' and I think that sums it up.
I was as against the idea of sleeved jerseys as anyone last year. Then I saw them and didn't think they were really that bad, just the green jersey with sleeves essentially.
These however are disgraceful and it's an insult to the fans' intelligence to claim they are honoring the past and tradition.
Absolute crap.
TP
and to your point, look at Avery's face. looks thrilled.
TP right back at you sir.
As I said, I've accepted that we have to have sleeved jerseys and can live with it if they're done well. I think the main reason a lot of them look so bad is because they are too tight-fitting. Which can be easily fixed of course.
These just have a horrible design. It needs more green. The old classic 'CELTICS' font is the best thing about them. I don't mind the parquet thing down the sides (wouldn't say it's anything special though) but the white lettering and numbers with the tiniest bit of green trim is diabolical. Even just having green lettering and numbers with white trim instead would be an improvement. White on grey is just a terrible look.
It would've been cool to have a poll on Celtics.com with say 3 or 4 different options for the sleeved jersey to vote for. Would generate more traffic to the site and likely lead to better sales of the jersey. Or even do something like Mark Cuban did with the Mavs were fans were able to submit their own designs for their alternate jersey. Lift your game Celtics marketing department.
