Like I said in the other thread, Trade Rondo now for Laker pick, we be 3 of the worst teams in the league..Plus cant trade anyone to the Lakers!!!
aren't we possibly already one of the worst 3 teams in the league.

Savvy fans know that the best rebuilding move is to trade Rondo for a stack of scratch off lottery tickets.  If we just get enough of em we can't possibly fail!  It's science.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
To all the people suggesting we trade Rondo for Randle, you realize they can just sign him this off season without giving any assets?

They could potentially have Kobe, Randle, Top 5 pick to add Rondo to. I'm not saying he's going to LA but it makes no sense for them to give up assets in a trade.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

That's all very true, but Kobe Bryant is also in the waning years of his career and has a limited shelf life.  I'm not saying I would trade Rondo to them, but I can see why they might try to make a move so as to possibly not waste another year of Kobe Bryant's career.

Rondo is a Laker type of player. Lakers are always flashy, diva types and Rondo fits in perfectly. If you're a Celtic you are blue collar. You're a dirt dog.

This made me dumber.

Definitely don't see the Lakers giving up a pick for Rondo??  They are awful, they are almost guaranteed one of Towns, Jahil, Mudiay.....

Say if they did trade for Rondo...Kobe and Rondo are not nearly enough to make the playoffs in the western conference...

Because there was nothing flashy about Larry Bird or Bob Cousy.

The Lakers still think they can win with Bryant, since when did they put peyote in the water in LA.

I say RONDO is the perfect Celtic.....stands up for his team, practices hard.....never quits....he makes it look EASY so some here think it is easy......the BEST at what they do always make it look easy. Losing Rondo would be a BIG mistake.

so let's see we can keep Rondo, and get another good draft pick this year. If Rondo leaves we have Smart to replace him and keep the good draft pick (2015) and build around the young guys. We could also clear enough cap space to sign rondo, another max player(gasol) and use Smart and the lottery pick from this year to trade for a 3rd star.

or

We can trade him to LA ,who's best asset is out for the year with a broken leg .....

hmmm hmmmm what to do ?

Unless Rondo doesn't get along with Stevens, I think he chooses the Celtics over the Lakers if both teams offer him the same amount of money in free agency.
